Bush Shows He Is Delusional At News Conference!

Yesterday George Bush forcefully defended his fiscal policies at his news conference. It was clear that Bush believes what he is saying despite that the results of the past 6 years show a total opposite reality. Bush again stated his disagreement with the criticism of Alan Greenspan who has said the Bush tax cuts and spending policies were irresponsible and have caused harm to our country. Bush also talked about the inability of Social Security and Medicare to pay the benefits that have been promised to the Baby Boomers that are getting ready to retire.

Bush totally ignored the fact that when he took office we had a balanced budget for the first time in over 20 years. The very first year he was in office he returned to annual budget deficits because of his tax cuts and increased spending. That policy has added $4 Trillion dollars to the debt of this country. Bush was warned in 2001 by Greenspan, O’Neil and Walker NOT to return to annual deficits and to tie any tax cuts to the so called surplus that Bush claimed was the justification for his tax cuts. Bush ignored the advice of the most knowledgeable experts in this country as to how he should manage our tax and spending policies. That refusal created the unprecedented debt that Greenspan criticized in his new book. For Bush to say he disagrees with Greenspan given both Greenspan’s track record and the fact the Bush fiscal policy has increased the debt MORE then ANY other President in our history, proves that Bush is delusional.

Then Bush turned to Social Security and its inability to pay the promised benefits. He said the reason that we have not resolved the Social Security funding problem is because Congress refused to pass the Bush suggestion to allow the creation of private accounts with part of individual Social Security taxes. The Bush suggestion would actually make Social Security even MORE unable to keep its promises. Thus what Bush said is totally opposite from reality. His plan not only would not solve the Social Security fiscal problem it would make the problem WORSE. What Bush suggested is like a person who intended to purchase a gallon of Milk for $3.00 who only has $2.00 in his pocket. He then offers to give the person in front of him $. 50 Cents to help them out. That would make him a $1.50 short of what he needed to purchase the milk.

Finally Bush turned to the inability of Medicate to keep its promises to the Baby Boomers. When Bush took office Medicare had a projected shortfall to meet future benefit payments. Bush and the GOP controlled Congress added to Medicare the Prescription Drug Plan without funding that new entitlement. Thus the action of Bush and the GOP took a serious problem and made it WORSE. Now Bush warns us about Medicare which he and the GOP made substantially worse.

If anyone else said the same things as Bush said yesterday they would be ignored as simply out of touch. The problem is that the person that is out of touch happens to be the leader of this country. To have a leader who is totally wrong and who refuses to look at reality is dangerous for the future our country!

Oh, Bush was the speaker at your Conference of the Delusional? I bet you're the President! ;~D No it was the Bush News Conference where he was displaying his lack of reality!

You are not arguing with me. You and Bush are disputing the FACTS and the opinion of Greenspan. I think Greenspan is a bit more informed the "C" student we have in the White House! Greenspan also has the results of the past 6 years to PROVE his point! Sounds like you are BOTH DELUSIONAL!!!!!

Hey, I'm not the one presiding over the Conference of the Delusional. ;~D

True, I'm not arguing with you, I'm giving your silly little post all the respect it deserves.

Insanity has been defined by some as doing the same thing over and over again while expecting different results.

I tried to tell you last article, Gene. Your methods bear no fruit, yet you keep using them. Try a new method, man. Join the sane.

Keep trying Gene. Bush lost the plot long ago. Anyone who relies on Rumsfeld to fight a war needs help. Attack, overwhelm, get Saddam out. Sorry about the poor water and electricity supply and making your lives tough, guys! Do you really think Greenspan is that wrong? The liars, genies and informed fools who don't know how to recover from a takeover should heed Greenspan's advice. He is no fool.

The truth is a Bush bash. That is because he has proven to be an incompetent and an ineffective President. Worse then that his actions have created great harm that will last for a long time after he is no longer President. Greenspan has identified two of the Bush failings-- His fiscal Policy and the Iraq War. I guess Greenspan must also be a Bush Basher?

still better than being a non president President. NOT TRUE!

A non President would not have been able to negatively impact the lives of millions of Americans and pass on the problems he either created or made worse to the next President! Most of us would all be far better off if Bush had remained an unsuccessful business man in Texas!

a non president would not have been able to impact the lives of any Americans.

and most of the problems you attribute to bush is has nothing to do with bush.

as far as greenspan is concerned. greenspan is an economists not a politician.

so if he tells bush how to handle the economy then bush should listen. but for bush to listen to him about how to handle a war or government that would have irresponsible.

What Greenspan criticized is 100% Bush.

At the news conference Bush said that he only got a "B" in Economics at Yale-- WRONG. I pulled the Transcript of GWB from Yale and it shows that in his first Economics Course he got a "71" and in the second course he got a "72". In fact his grades are POOR and HOW he got into Harvard Graduate School is a VERY good question!

i listened to the press conference and bush said he got a C not a B so whoever told you this was lieing.

I believe Bush said a "B". However you should look at just how poorly Bush did at Yale. Again I would like to know HOW he got into Harvard! The same way he got into the National Guard.

In any event Bush not agreeing with Greenspan about the fiscal policy is a joke.

now your going to tell me what i heard.

george bush stated that he made a c average in economics and that he would defer to greenspans judgement on that.

it turns out your right he said he got a b in economy 101 and latter he said he got a c in economics. oops sorry you were wrong.

I knew I heard that he claimed he got a "B" when his transcript shows a "71”which is a "C". In fact he was only two points from a "D". The real issue is Greenspan knows what he is talking about and the Bush Fiscal Policy was irresponsible and has and will cause our country great harm. It also shows that I was correct that Bush lives in a dream world of how he wants the world to be not how the world is today!

but you were wrong

you see he said he got a B in one class. he also said he averaged a C in the whole thing.

YOU are the Stupid person. The issue is Bush vs. Greenspan-- NO CONTEST. A person that was a "C" student that failed when he was in business compared to a man who is one of the foremost authorities in economics. The Expert, Allen Greenspan said again today on Meet The Press that he ONLY supported the Bush Tax Cuts IF there was a Surplus to pay for them. That did not happen. He also said from a policy standpoint that Clinton was the "Best Republican" he ever saw! Greenspan said he agreed with MOST of the Clinton Policies and said he was one of our most intelligent Presidents.

I also was in contact with the economics professor Bush had at Harvard. He told me that Bush was one of his worst students and had some very strange ideas.

why would you bother an 70 year old man about this.

this smacks as a lie.
