You should have received an e-mail explaining how to register. Anyway, you register through Stardock Central via Tools.

I have never been prompted for a serial number and have uninstalled and rebooted then reinstalled and still nothing asking for serial.

Which doesn't work? I gave a solution and Seabass gave an alternative (manual) solution. He is a SD employee so I'd say that if either didn't work he would have stated so.

we are talking about tweakvista right??
there is no manual registration for tweakvista!!!
sea bass's doesn't work because its not even for tweakvista and neither does yours!!
he could work for nasa for all i care his solution does not work for tweakvista.
so either save the smart-ass comments or say something useful.
the stardock central does not have "tweakvista" listed to manually enter the reg.

so what now Einstein??

Let's go back two steps.

How did you install TweakVista? Through Stardock Central or otherwise?
Can you post a screenshot of TweakVista asking for a serial? Or explain how it's not working?

Can you install SDC and try to install from there?

Otherwise it's proably time for a formal case to [email protected].  Community support will have reached the end of any help we might provide.

That should help.  If it doesn't come back here and we'll try to think of something else.

We are trying . . that counts.

heh.  I'd imagine that the number of problems compared to teh number of successes is a pretty good ratio.  You just got stuck on the wrong side.  It'll get resolved and TweakVista will be worth it.

I don't appreciate people I don't know speaking to me this way, especially when all I was attempting to do was help. Oh and btw, I wasn't being sarcastic/condescending. This "is" text and while reading something it may seem that a person said it or meant it this way, doesn't always mean they do.

With that being said maybe this will help you to gauge my tone of voice and overall emotional input while speaking...Kiss my ass!

so what now Einstein??

Oh I don't know, but you,a bridge and jumping pops into my head.

listen, star dock central is of no use as best I can tell. it has no references to tweak vista what so ever as best I can tell.
TweakVista is not listed in the list of apps on the ObjectDesktop tab?

so far I've spent 20$ and and all I get is a several worthless "tips" in that none of them work and some were not even related to the same product.
They were related and they weren't worthless.  They just weren't applicable to your situation.
and some guy crying cause he only knows how to dish out the crap.
KiloKrash is a valued member of this community and was trying to help.  He was not being a smart ass.  I think your frustration colored what you read.

Your attitude isn't helping the situation and may be hindering it.  Another user might have had the same issue and resolved it but might not help reading this thread.  I've seen it happen.

{sarcasm on} I can imagine you frustration but not your attitude.  It's a separate issue but you might want to look for a resolution there first.  {sarcasm off}

If you're logged in, Stardock Central doesn't need you to give it the registration code - it already knows that you bought the product. Your Stardock.net email address and password allows you to download and install all the products you have bought from Stardock.

It looks like you're having a more complex issue than can be handled in the forums.  Please email [email protected]

NEVER did it ask for a serial number. not even when i originally installed the trial.
and prior to just now i didnt even have the sdc installed.
when i bought it i uninstalled the demo. rebooted. downloaded from the link i was given from sales and installed it. again, never asked for a serial #.
as best i can tell the program has no "help-about" section where you can actually see if its registerted and to who.
why was I given a serial # ? and why amy I repeatedly told the program will ask for the serial number during install??

To clarify what may be a misunderstanding: If you start TweakVista, and it does not give you the trial screen, you already have the registered version installed, and you can use it without limitation. If it does not, then you need to install the registered version instead of the trial, either through Stardock Central when logged in or using the installer linked in your serial email. This installer contains the registered version and not the trial version.

The installer from Download.com only contains the trial version of TweakVista. It is not like other trial versions of software that you may have tried in that you cannot enter a serial to "unlock" features - the trial executable literally does not contain the code for the functions reserved for the registered version, and they are greyed out and disabled to indicate this.

then why have a serial #??
the trial cant use it and apparently the full version doesnt ask for it either.
so you create your own troubles??
lol

Without a serial number or email with a registration attached to it, you cannot get support for the registered features of TweakVista. The initial CD versions of Galactic Civilizations II were distributed similarly - there is no serial check on initial install. However subsequent versions of the game from 1.1 to 1.5 (each of which added features) have required serial numbers.

Similarly, you will require your serial for upgrades to TweakVista - although Stardock Central may handle the serial checks in the background if you install via it.

I should have been more specific. I went looking for this ticket and didn't find it. If you like you can send me the ticket ID or you can start up a new one. Reference this thread in it when you do.

well if you say its registered and I'm getting all the features, I will have to take your word for it as there is no "help-about" menu which tells the user lic info.
Also would of been helpful if support knew that the serial is not needed or asked for instead of telling me it was.
Not to mention all the other "tips" presented here.
Secondly, I never got any responses from my open ticket.
I'm somewhat pleased with the program although it looks like your competitors soft may be more powerful.
I'm going to check that out now.
Thanks -
