What are your system spec's?
...more to the point, which graphic's card do you have?
Might well be as simple as a driver update for your graphics card..
Have you tried that?

I have noticed, every once in awhile, upon booting up, that i get an error message saying that deskscapes needs to have dreamscenes installed in order for it to function, even tho i HAVE dreamscenes installed. What i then do is change the background to a static picture, then i change it to a dreamscene, then switch back to my deskscapes...that solved the problem for me. This only happens very rarely, and im really not sure what the conflict is during bootup...
as to your problem, if you could post your graphic card, current ram, etc. that also might be helpful..I know that i had to wait around a month or two for a new graphic driver after installing vista, as the manufacturer didnt come out with one until march

Okay ...the graphics card is around the medium range. It should do the job, but it may not be coping with that particular dream file, or it's possibly [as I said earlier] as simple as a driver update.
Have you tried others yet, to verify that it's possibly just that file?
If you need to update drivers for the card, the latest for your card were released on August 13, and you can get them here http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/vista32/common-vista32.html
Install, reboot, then try your dream files again.
Good luck.
