Palm Cancels the Foleo

Today, Palm announced it was canceling the Foleo, which has been labeled as a "mobile companion" that would be used in conjunction with a smartphone. While it was an interesting concept, you were better off picking up a cheap laptop for the price it was going to be offered at.

On the official Palm Blog, CEO Ed Colligan stated the following:

"In the course of the past several months, it has become clear that the right path for Palm is to offer a single, consistent user experience around this new platform design and a single focus for our platform development efforts."

Even though this cancellation, which could cost Palm up to $10 million won’t disappoint too many people, it will be interesting to watch what becomes of their "next generation platform".
