She's a princess today

Learning all about dress up.

princess maddy

Maddy is learning about the joys of dress up and pretend. I'm really grooving on how her imagination works. And anyone who tells you that there is no difference between a boy and a girl is crazy. She plays superheros and cars with her brothers but by herself, she would much rather play house or pretend to be a pink princess.

A girl who can look that cute, and still play superhero?  That's one fun loving girl!

It is because she IS a princess. And a beautiful one at that.

Sweet.

Wondering why she's topless, though.

What? You never had a recently potty-trained 2 year old? I spend most of my time asking her where she left her pants!

After 3 boys, I was rather surprised about little girls.. I find myself thinking the same thoughts. She'll rough-house and run around with the boys doing all kinds of weird things, but left to herself she'd rather listen to her mom's iPod (and dance to the music) or play "house" with her dolls and stuffed animals. Her favorite doll right now is one that her brothers all chipped in to get her last year for Christmas. And not as a present, but using the money they'd gotten from various out of town relatives. That earned it an extra special place in her heart. Given a chance, she'll drag that thing everywhere.

Yes, little girls are DEFINITELY different from little boys (and not just in the obvious ways).

Enjoy that precious, little darling before she grows up on ya!

What a doll! Potty trained at 2, you go girl! The girl thing is very new and different for me too. My little one loves trucks but she also loves on her dollies like the boys never would. The boys had my dolls around too and they usually ended up headless in short order. They are very different!
