Ronald Reagan Said:

"There are three kinds of pollution today: real, hysterical, and political."

Ain't that the truth! Lately political seems to be the thickest!

The question is, how in the world do we clean it up?

Lets sell our congress to Iraq, since they are so good at getting things done, elect a new congress, bring our troops home, have a big party, stop dumping money into Iraq and spend a few billion rebuilding New Orleans and a big fence between Mexico and the USA so we can shut Lou Dobbs up.

Dan Greene for President!

I lived in New Orleans for four years. The world would be a better place if New Orleans had been erased. A more corrupt government and ignorant people I've never seen. KFC is fond of apololyptic stuff...honey...THIS is where God should strike first.

Gets my vote for that reason alone.

I seriously choked on my tea laughing reading this one!! Good one Doc.

THIS is where God should strike first.

Ock, we are in total agreement. My son lived there for a year during the Katrina experience and I was very uneasy the whole time. So glad he's outa there.

kill the politician

hmmmm a tad strong for my taste, but can understand the sentiment. I think maybe we should exile them all together, let them set up their own government and sit back and watch. I bet it would be it a #1 hit in the realm of reality tv or...hmmmm maybe comedy. I'd watch it.

How about removing money from campaigns ( and shut up you sniveling whining weasels complaining about infractions of the first amendment, you abridged that shit a long time ago quite willingly ) and having public elections? Certainly would give lobbyists and other certain conglomerates a short shrift and equalize the voice in America - don't you think?

You clean things up by taking out the currency.

I'm going to repeat that.

You clean things up by taking out the currency.

Just like in Iraq, you vote for your own government and get what you vote for. In New Orleans they RE-Elected that sun of a bitch Nagin. Look what they got for it.

People in the city still living in trailers, and the French Quarter looking better every year. Homeless living across from city hall.

I have no sympathy for people who still are living in those trailers, it's time to get a job, get some education, move someplace where you can be a benefit to society instead of a drain on it. Do something but move on, because wishing the city would have never experienced a hurricane isn't going to bring it back.

Two years later and people still live in those trailers. That's sad, that's pathetic, but that's on them.

You have an end, now what about the means? How do you propose to accomplish this?

Well I got some great news for you Daniel, nobody in politics in America is gonna embrace your idea, because in order for the Democrats to compete with Republicans, they need to spend more, and when the next election comes, in order for the Republicans to compete with Democrats, they have to spend more, and re-read the first part of the sentence to get what happens after that latest election.

Independents might like it, but they will never get on the ballot nationally or be a competitive force because the two parties will squeeze em out however they can.

Now, I did say I had some great news for you.

I like your idea and it's a good idea.

But the bad news it it's not feasible, unless you abolish the current government.

Been tried. McCain Feingold anyone?

I know there is a means. However, the "ends justifying the means" is the road to tyranny. The basic premise - money out of politics - is not feasible in a democratic society. America is not alone in this respect. It is pervasive among all democracies. The legislation that has been tried and is being tried does not work. They represent the fingers of the little dutch boy in the dike. You plug up one hole, and more spring up.

Wasn't there a thread on here about how 90 out of 100 Americans have guns. Hmmm, maybe we start another civil war. LOL.

Just kidding keep your guns locked up!
