Sins Beta 2 Update Now Available

Version 0.78.022 available on Stardock Central

The latest Sins of a Solar Empire Beta 2 update is now available through Stardock Central for our current pre-order customers.  Version 0.78.022 contains dozens of improvements and bug fixes for issues that were mentioned in our forums.  Please reinstall this version of the beta fresh (don't update) and remember that save games from older versions are not compatible.

Well, that answers *THAT* question. I was wondering why we weren't getting patches any more often. You have to reinstall the game to patch. That's a good reason not to release a patch a day or even a week .

It's not typically like that. Just that there are a large number of significant changes, so any leftover files from the previous beta build can cause unforseen issues. So it's better to start clean.

Yeah, it's basically a support issue. Updating should work fine, but since every single file's been updated, it's just faster to install fresh - plus it avoids any issues where old files aren't overwritten for whatever reason (that will cause crashes).

That'll happen... some day.

It is a lot harder now, but not enough to take out prepared defenses for the most part.
