When blogers on this site say that the intelligence provided the President and national security Advisor by the multi Billion Dollar CIA is not creditable and defend Bush and Rice not only ignoring those warnings but failing to provide the intelligence to Congress, they are HYPOCRIITS!!!!!
Col I no longer have doubts that you were in the military I doubt you are a legal citizen of the United States or the planet earth. You seem to be the chief hypocrite on JU. In 1998 CIA got wind of attacks planned on the US. The information was a Philippine member of AQ planned to drop 15 air planes in the ocean using nitroglycerin. The Philippine government got this information off of the leader’s laptop computer it had all the information except the names of the people that would carry out the task, the dates it would happen and the airlines targeted.
Ben Laden said the operation was too complicated and scaled it down a bit. Instead he wanted 25 airplanes crashed into important targets in the US. This was what they were working on from 1998 to 2001. The CIA knew there was something coming but not what.
col you and your hypocrisy ignore the facts just to narrow it down to one president.
Allow me to give you a history lesson you should have gotten from reading the NYT. Mr. Carter was the first president that had to deal with terrorist. He did nothing, well almost nothing. I got shot by the terrorist in the Philippines in 1977, but we were only there at the request of the Philippine government not some proactive attempt on Mr. Carter’s end of the war.
Mr. Reagan took over and he saw the problem and did something about it. He initiated the ghost program where we hunted down terrorist and allowed them to know for sure if there is a God.
Mr. Bush did the same thing for his four years in office.
Then Mr. Clinton took over and the ghost program was cut by 76% now we only captured terrorist and shipped them back to their own countries, rendition, where most were released and went back to thinking bad thoughts about us. Eight years of this allowed the enemy to actually build a network that spanned the globe pulling in people from countries that were not on our watch list.
2001 25 airplanes were scheduled to slam into buildings in America. Three made it, one encountered resistance, the rest were grounded before the enemy could take control of the aircraft. Due to miscommunication the passengers were allowed off the planes and the other teams went to ground. When the FBI was finally given the information about the other bad guys, a six hour delay due to the “Wall” between agencies, they tried the next best thing which was to round up all Arab people and quickly vet them to find the bad people. YOU and others screamed that Mr. Bush was violating our civil rights, impeach BUSH was your battle cry. So the remaining terrorists were allowed to go and fight us once more.
I am now free to discuss the ghost program because it has made it out into public light, you will see books about it soon and maybe a movie or two. So you know I am not breaking the national secrets act of 1947 I waited until it was fully out in the media before I started talking about it. Which also proves that col Gene has no clue about how the intelligence field works or what is good information and disinformation. He swallows all the bad stuff and ignores the good.
Mr. Bush did not ignore the threats he acted upon them as best he could with eight months in office. It is hypocritical of you Gene to say that Mr. Bush ignored warnings when the information he had was the same as Mr. Clinton who had eight YEARS to act on it. All of the attacks on America happened prior to Mr. Bush taking office. Yet your hypocritical mind refuses to see it.
You sir are a political hack, not a scholar, and doubtful you were an officer though I have seen two other Army officers of the rank of Colonel that have spoken out like col Gene just not as stupidly. Maybe it is an army thing to berate your country in a time of war?
