Wiki Link request for SDC and websites

Currently, as I understand things, the lack of documentation is an issue for Stardock and as a means of helping to alleviate the problem the wiki has been established.

However, I have also noted, that there are almost no links to the wiki anywhere on the various Stardock websites. If templates are in use on these websites it should not be that hard to add the link; thereby updating most of your website(s) pages immediately. Currently the only link I know of (besides any manual links a user posts) is on the Help page under Getting Started.

Just thought that I would mention this because the Stardock Central program needs to have a link added to the wiki as well. I'm not sure where the company might want this placed, but the possibilities are:

  • The left-hand iconic menu, like the current Store and JoeUser links.
  • Under Help>Online Support>Wiki.
  • Or change the URL associated with Help>Documentation or Help>Online Support>Help since both currently go to the same page.

Personally I would go with the 2nd option; but remove the Documentation entry entirely since its redundant.

The current situation is not a way to promote the wiki, for users looking for assistance, or to encourage established, knowledgeable users to add information. While I understand that the wiki is brand new, this might explain the lack of action there.

sViz,

Funny that you should reply. Since I started looking in the wiki, your efforts represent 80% of the changes that I've seen. I'm well aware that others contribute and it was just a matter of timing though.

Despite being an ODNT subscriber for a couple of years I have barely used the program. Generally just downloading a theme and applying it. No creation or customizing. So their is little that I can contribute to the effort.

With that said, I have given some thought to adding info for OD+ seeing as how I'm playing with it a bit. But as my previous message illustrated my writing style runs on the dry side... kind of like Ben Stein in Ferris Buehler's Day Off.

(BTW, I suggested removing the 2nd option because Documentation implies that the link points to down loadable manuals in txt/pdf/doc/html form. No such material currently exists.)

I must've missed your reply.

I see your already helping out on the wiki. Every little bit helps no matter what your writing style.
