I thought a lot about my friend from the state for lovers when I saw this article.  (As well as having thoughts about MasonM and his thread about raising priorities, not taxes).

The Maryland GOP, at least in the Maryland House of Reps., is proposing reasonable and responsible cuts in budget growth, spending on schools, spending on Medicaid, etc.

Of course chances of this ever getting passed are nil since the state is in the iron-fisted grip of the Democrats, and the state Governor is a Democrat that never met spending that he didn't want to increase in some way to pander to the base.
