The Way of Nebraska and Maine?

Should the rest of the nation follow these states by proportionately—based on statewide voting—by dividing up its electoral vote? What’s your take on it? And is it any different from a general popular vote?

Not exactly like a popular vote as you still have the 2 senators.  But closer.  And instead of one key state being run through the recount wringer, you would have 50 congressional districts suffering that fate.

While it is up to the states to decide how its electoral votes will be used, any state willing to water down its influence on the election is committing itself to irrelevance.
