Newbie in need of help...

This is quite possibly the dumbest question you're going to encounter-

How the hell do you start trading? As in what do you research to get it going and start building frieghters? (I think thats what they're called...)

In the Tutorial it says to "Research Trade", but I'm not seeing a "Trade" branch in the Tech Tree. I research "Xeno Trade Centers" but that dosent give me the trade ships either...

I know this is going to be something blindingly obvious, please feel free to humble me...


Oh and sorry if this post is in the wrong area or anything...

Research Xeno Communications, Universal Translator, Diplomatic Relations then Trade will be available for research.

I just found out why I couldn't figure it... It didn't allow the research in the campaign level I was on.
