Windows Explorer Folders Pane Header

What Image Does WB Use Here?

I haven't been able to figure out what image WB is using for the Folders pane header as shown here:

Anyone know where that's coming from? I'd be grateful.

Thanks.

Hey Daiwa, Controls-Toolbar-Toolbar Background

Thanks, Cavan.

Any idea why it looks like that when these are the settings & image I'm using?

Thanks, again.

Daiwa, I may be wrong, but I think that it comes from the menu bar background...at least in my skins it does...my rebar (toolbar background) is different in my skins from the area you are talking about. It doesn't take the image directly....it is like it takes one of the colors in the image and displays that. I don't think there is any way to directly skin that area.

Hey Daiwa, looks like a size margin thing, I think it needs a good part of the image to be not stretched, try setting top size margin for toolbar background to 30. Since it is a shared image, this will also affect the look of the toolbars, you will have to find a happy median.

Here is a screenie; full image, 60pixs high, applied to toolbar and menubar, top 20ish pixs applied to header. Size margins set at top 59, bottom 0.

I've done a little more experimentation & Cavan is correct about which image WB is using - Toolbars/Toolbar Background.

It also appears that the image vertically "spans" the three rows in Explorer (the "menubar" which is really a toolbar, the Toolbar and the Address bar). It would also appear that the top 2-3 pixel rows of the image get used to fill the Folder pane header, stretching them to do so. I'm going to try something tricky - use a solid 2-3 pixel border at the top of the toolbar background image & see if I'm correct. Not sure how to make both look right at the same time, yet, however. While on the subject, I'd much rather WB6 fixed these sorts of issues than added blur to ppx borders. 0.02

Didn't see your reply #5 until after posting #6, Cavan. I see what you're getting at - I'll continue to mess with the image & sizing margins to see if I can get both to look right. Shouldn't be so hard to trick these things up - wish the developers would fix some of these details before doing the Star Trek thing. Bad mood today.

Using a larger top sizing margin (30 per your suggestion) partially solved the problem - at least it looks better:

Looks like a flat rather than gradient image would look better there. I'll keep working at it.

Thanks very much Cavan & jazzymjr. 'Preciate the kind help.

Thanks for the tip, Cavan. I never knew that. Now, I am gonna go and piddle with mine on the blind I am working on.
