Missing the lady

I know what you mean, my better half and I been married 32 years, and I have never regretted a second of it. She is a wonderful lady in the literal sense of the word, and Imho I have rarely met such a steadfast, quiet, thoughtful, unassuming, unpretentious Rock. When I hit the occasional bandwagon (dont we all   ) and get over the top more than usual, there is this quiet but incisive sound of "yes dear" that is uttered from behind the newspaper or the latest Sudoko - and said without missing a heartbeat.

There is also the mental sound of a thousand avenging angels, that had begun their final bombing run on the errant bandwagon, in a Major crash & burn as they hit the carpet uselessly.

*Sigh*

Colleen has to take several business trips a year, she is usually gone for 5 to 7 days each time. I can  remember one thing, I miss her like a sick junkie misses his shot of heroin!. Sad but true.

You can just spend more time ion Joeuser ock, I can annoy the hell out of you and that will occupy some of your time. heh heh.

Nah, you don't irritate me, MM. Ya know what's irritating? This is a little long to explain, but I'd rather just put it here than make a whole blog about it.

There's a military flight that rotates between Norfolk Virginia and here once a week. In fact they call it "The rotator." And there are categories of importance that get you on this flight.

People that are going somewhere on orders - usually changing duty stations - are class 1 and get first priority on seats. Class 2 is for something called EML - Environmental somethingorother. The purpose of it is to give people stationed overseas the ability to go back to the good ole US once every 6 months for their mental health.

Well...I went through some trouble to get my wife EML so she wouldn't be category 4 - which is straight up "space available" - so she could go see her Dad on his 80th birthday. She just called me and said that even with the EML paperwork, she's still category 4 because "dependents don't count."

WTF?! Um...isn't it our dependents that we're doing this whole military thing for? Don't they need, often more than we do, the ability to go "home?" Pretty pissed off at the military right now. Mari served 21 months active duty here on ADSW orders (which is basically when you take a reservist and make them active duty on a contractual basis). She deserves this benefit.

I'll post later if she manages to make it on the flight anyway - just to inform whoever is curious. In my mind, military spouses deserve FAR more benefits than military members. They are the ones that make the big sacrifices - that of following their spouse to whatever godforsaken place the military sends them to. It's not right.

As I promised to tell, she got a seat on the flight. I miss her lots already. Everyone should have such a pleasant significant other.

Glad she got on board, Ock. Suprises work a lot better when you actually get to suprise someone.

That just sounds so right somehow!LOL!
