I think most people have at least tried the stuff. I agree with Giz (in comment #33) and most of his facts I have seen, heard and read before... even from collegiate studies. Much of the anti-pot campaigning over the years has misled people into thinking it is something very bad, which in and of itself is not. There are people who abuse anything they can get their hands on and pot is no different. That said, I would much rather have a friend abuse pot then anything else... including legal stuff like alcohol and many of the prescription drugs around.

Speaking of medical usage... I have had friends with serious conditions who could not function without the stuff and were recommended by doctors themselves to use it. The Chinese used it as far back as 500 BC as medicine and it’s documented by their writings from then. Much of it was for the same reasons people would like to use it for today (i.e. pain, appetite, ect). Of course, drug companies wouldn't have it that way because they would loose crazy amounts of money if such a cheap (and even self grown) medicine was readily available.

Also, my personal feelings on the US 'banning' hemp now is complete idiocy as the plant itself could do much more good then harm. Even though it is closely related to pot it has none of the chemical that actually gets you high (THC), well such a small amount that it won't get you high no matter how much you smoke of it.

As for a theme, I agree with the masses that making such a theme is not the best of ideas as it is illegal in most of the world and 'promoting' it in such a way might not be viewed in good light. I am and have always been a supporter of legalizing both pot and hemp (though with 'controls' in place for pot, i.e. medical usage only). But, there is no way I would currently create a 'theme' for it sadly.

Wow to the guy with the long drawn out history would like to chat with you sometime i like your views i have many of the same though here is the part that no one wants to hear the deepest depth the darkest secret that america or at least the usa has kept and the repeal that was never repealed see marijuana is completely legal in the united states as long as you are on a reservation and are american indian there was a little thing back in the day they called prohibition and it was what got the marijuana taken in the bill it was (sorry lady's) WOMEN that wanted alchohol and marijuana banned in the united states and men were getting weak in their way and got over run by the rich political figures who were moved by controlling wives that ran the prohibition movement oh and by the way prohibition was a violent movement caused by (not marijuana not alchohol) but women (dont think too hard about this but womens rights were good but then again it was a different time and people had different wants and dreams they liked different things from what people of today like and the reason behind it all was the increase in technology) so should we make technology illeagle and go back to living in sod houses start growing hemp again and help the world live a little longer???

What really blows my mind is they say the green house gasses are causing global warming and does no one realize that it is because green is just disappearing from the earth as fast as man can cut it from the ground...

If people were made to grow marijuana the air would be much fresher we wouldnt have soldiers in IRAQ and the earth could finaly heal itself remember things that are used for medicine are not only for people but the planet if the planet didn't need it to live why would it be here...

Atheist ok now if you dont believe in god and you have to believe in something so believe this the earth would not substain something that would destroy it no living organism exists with out some form of immunity a white blood cell so to speak weather it is rain or snow hurricaine or tornado fire or flood... there has to be a ballance for life to exist cause with out death there is no life with out bad there is no good so if you thrive to take all the bad out of the world you also threaten to take all the good out of the world as well... am I wrong here??? there are no good or bad animals only good or bad people

last i saw there are no cats or dogs robbing homes or stores and raping women or kids

this is stuff that only humans do and most of these people are taken into custody and either killed or medicated (MEDICATED) so who is be hind all the mess??? the people who pump steroids into cows to produce more milk??? grow more food??? so that the cost of natural food goes up giving people in a lower class no choice but to eat what they can afford exposing themselves to the drug that the usa dont want you to know about why do you think that people are the way they are???


ADD AHDD people take so many drugs its not funny poor guys if they stop taking the drugs they get violent and confused tired and unfocused but riddlin dont come from a plant but if it did do you think it would be legal??? think about it the goverment runs you they controll your mind and you will never take your eyes off the tv screen long enough to realize what they just pumped into your head you should spend some time learning so that one day maybe the people can unite and do something positive for a change instead of doing just what the government wants you to do though again i am not saying that there should be anarchy or anything like that just that all law should be re written to accomodate the time and the people so that waste is not made people are doing long stretches in prisons for marijuana and cocaine,crack and heroine... And we the people are paying taxes to support these peoples lives and keep them behind bars so that they cant do these things that we consider bad... I could go on forever about this but the truth is that if you dont know everything about something you should at least know something about what you are talking about and not to many people even know the history behind any of this....

Actually no I was referring to one of my friends who ended up a down and out on the streets of brussels after pot pot and more pot. Serious very bad schizophrenia. Another of my friends has given up pot and gone from being a nobody to a succesful architect...
Most people I know admit to feeling very fragile and not themselves the day after smoking. When you smoke regularly you take this for granted though.

Seriously, pot + schizophrenia- look it up...

Some of you people need to lighten up and quit taking everything so seriously. (thats pointed at one individual really....)

If people were/are talking about sess than I'm on your side but, if you're talking about new hybrids aka hydroponic strains than the addictive properties are well documented. Not to mention Marijuana is fat soluble vs alcohol being water soluble. Trust me having a mj flash back is not fun when it hits you at the weirdest time.

I feel that pot can cause health problems. I have custody of 2 of my grandsons - and have had custody for almost 5 years now - because my daughter and her soon-to-be ex-husband smoked pot. She smoked pot all through her pregnancy with the youngest, soon to be 5. Cannot prove it with the older one, 6. The youngest was born with THC in his system and because of that, I was the only one allowed to bring him home from the hospital and my husband and I have had them since. They are both underweight, both have had to have speech therapy (youngest is still going - 3 years now), both have coordination and fine motor skill problems - and getting occupational therapy through their schools. Whether you want to believe it or not pot causes health problems.

Sorry, I know this went off the theme of the original post but I feel very strong, from personal experience, about the issue of pot.

Cheryl, if your daughter is dumb enough to smoke pot while she was pregnant then there probably isn't any telling what other drugs she might have been doing to cause her baby to be retarded. I wish I knew why you people had to turn this post into something it's not. It's NOT about the morality or legality of pot. It's NOT about the effects of pot. Hell, it's NOT even about condoning drugs. Please feel free to reread the original post.
