VU Meter skinning help for Xion

I hate to be a bother on this. I got everything skinned for my first player except for the VU meter animation. I'm a little fuzzy on how to make one. Could some kind person give me a basic tutorial on this?

Easy way...open a skin that has them in the style you want to do.

3 kinds...single image transparency based on output. An animation set(10 or so images played in either up or down order, lots of tricks possible).Or just a single layer with a sliderbit(which will jump to the output).

Which one do you want to do?

easy way, make a rectangle box or any shape just like for the track title layer, fill with color of choice, name it whatever direction vumeter. Example btvumeter. then create a new pallet and make the skin cover for it leaveing some transparent areas, style as you wish then drag it to player over the vumeter and size it accordingly, doesn't need a special name for that layer just make sure its above vumeter layer. The reason I say make a new pallet and drag it, is because for me it wouldn't retain its style when I loaded it in Xion for the test run by just createing a new layer on the player, don't know why, thats just how it worked for me.

That's easy. I got to stop working on my skins at four in the morning half asleep. All i saw was a bunch of numbers in the layer guid and got confused.  Thanks for the ideas everyone.

OK. It didn't work, but i went to the xion web page and found an update for the layer guid. What was confusing was the missing layer name i was looking for, (lvumeterlr) . Now it works.
