i cant upload =(

i cant upload

okay, im dying to upload my new wb called wednesdays nightmare.....but im having no luck.  with the old beta upload i always had success....ive read all the posts on uploads, but nothing there seems to help me.  im only using alphabet letters, no commers or anything strange.  im using internet explorer...i have dial up...hmm i cant think of anything else i need to add that helps technically...

i get an error after about 10 mins of patient waiting...its a error within the wincustiomize...not a windows error.  so what can i do??

Can you give us the following details:

1.  The exact error message you're encountering
2.  At what point in the upload process does the error occur?  Is it once the progress meter is full?  Before?
3.  How big are the files you're attempting to upload?
4.  The full name of each file you're trying to upload (with file extension)

question 1. i will have to get back to you on the excact error, ill write it down....
2. either at 0.04 % or 2.67% the meter shows a smidge of green
3. the file is...4.39mb
4. its a windows blind ( i dont know what you mean by file extension)

file extension is usually the last 3 letters following a file name (after the dot).  I.e coolpic.jpg, the file extension is jpg.  CoolBlind.wba - file extension is .wba.

okay the file extension is .wba (for the windowblind) and jpeg for the preview pic

the error is as follows: the server method 'GetUpload' failed with the following error:

that is all it says nothing else.....

What's the name of the file you uploaded (include the .wba extension)? 

Are you using IE6 or IE7?

I have internet explorer 7. jpkylegirl...i have not uploaded the window blind as yet, that is the issue, i cannot upload it. i only use IE.....

The reason I'm asking for the file name is because it's possible that it may have gotten uploaded, part way or something. So if you provide the file name you are trying to upload, it would be helpful in debugging what is going on. Provide the name for the windowblinds file, and for the preview image.

jpkylegirl really should change the nick to Nickie.

Sorry darlin, didnt realize thats what you meant.

the name of the windowblind is Wednesdays Nightmare.wba
the preview pic is called Wednesdaysnightmarescreenshot.jpg

I meant jpkylegirl. LOL! Most folks here know me as "Nickie" on IRC.

Wednesdays Nightmare.wba... that has a space in it. Typo?

It is possible that the file name is too long.  Try shortening it.

I'll pass this information on.

Yeah it has a space between the 's' and the 'N' ...thanks for passing it on.. im off to bed, and i guess ill see the results on the morrow...thanks for your help Nickie.....

oh... the shortening it goes for the preview image too.  The preview image gets renamed on our end, so you can name it anything... like 1.jpg.

My last two logons I tried uploading half a dozen times a night for a week and it would seem to load OK and I'd get an "Upload successful" box and page would just freeze. I remembered someone put a link in the forum to the old upload page.....I found it and don't know what the difference was, but it went straight through first time......

im adding that link to my favourites sydney, I followed your link, and she uploaded first go!
I dont know what the difference is either, all i know is the old one works for me, the new one doesnt... so thanks a zillion for that, very nice of you to do so....

I seem to have a problem with uploading too.

"Your skin has failed to upload.
When uploading a new skin, your Skin file must also be submitted."

The filename is "Pacifico.logonxp"
The preview is "Pacifico Logon Preview.jpg

First time this has happened.

I, too, cannot upload anything with the new upload. I have tried with IE7 and Firefox and don't even get the progress meter. Nothing happens whatsoever but the old link works and have been using it for a couple of months. No error message appears when attempting to upload on the new one. It worked for a while and then I couldn't use it anymore.

I'm having the same problem. I've tried uploading a skin now about 8 times and it uploads the screenshot and then won't do the .wba. Same as Boss0190 above. I wrote to websupport two days ago but no answer.
