Let me tell you what makes me afraid:

Republican Partisan on day X: The Patriot Act is nothing to be afraid. They will simply use it to protect national security.

Republican PArtisan on day Y: The Democrats are the biggest treath to national security.

Take X and Y together. What if other people followed that line of reasoning? Here is the treath, in EITHER supporting un-warranted spy, or thinking of any political movement as a national treath.

4) Public health insurance doesn't cover certains area. Also, you cannot bypass waiting lines and pay. Since most hospitals are public, they can't accept payment to prioritize you. It also means that "general" private health insurance (you know, the cover-all) is illegal in our country. Patients are NOT customers.

sorry but this is the main problem with universal med. no choice

People are afraid that allowing private healthcare will make the public a poor and inneficient one. (well, even more inneficient). Nurses and Doctors will all go to private practice (well, the best ones), and the poor peoples who can't affort a private insurance will be left with the scrap.

And... I am sorry to say, but these arguments ARE sound.

Not only is he pulling numbers out of thin air, but he is speculating on something that he totaly invented, that never actually happened, in order to spread fear into your mind. To create some sort of... innuendo, some random link into your mind between universal healthcare and governement's heartless (no pun) actions.

Even if he isn't trying to make this idea pass as the truth (he emphasis a lot about pulling the numbers out of thin air, thu trying to get a false aura of truthfulness), he will have made that one baseless speculation which can influence your jugement about this topic (universal healthcare).

Beware such mastery of the innuendo. Small sniping comments can have a lot more influence than you think.

I don't think so. Unless you include yourself with the conspiracy group I don't see The Patriot Act that way.

The Patriot Act was a very strong response to Sept. 11. Signed into law just 45 days after the attack in Oct. 26. At that time we did not know all the details of all that was going on, who attacked us, are there more, etc. I see this comparison to a school lock down just on a larger level. Someone comes in and blows up the boys bathroom. The school is then locked down. Why? Because no one knows who blew up the boys bathroom and whether there are more on the way. In BOTH cases there is a CAUSE that RESULTED in a temporary restriction. The Patriot Act was Temporary. When Bush signed it in 2001, The Patriot Act was to expire Dec. 31 of 2005. With two extensions the Patriot Act expired March 10, 2006.

As far as I know, no. It has his flaws, but in many way, it is more efficient than other health care system, such as the U.S.'s

I voted for Bush after being a life long Democrat, MY deep Hatred for Hanoijohn Kerry Started way back in 1973 before he got into politics, but went before Congress and called Vietnam vets baby killers, women rapist, He compared us to the Hoards of Genghis Khan, He claimed we shot civilians in the back, Basically painted each and every one of us with the same brush making no distinction between those of us that served honorably and those that did behave in the manner he described {Mi Lai}, When I saw he had a good chance of becoming President I switched Parties and voted for Bush, much to my shame now, BUT I still would vote for me for President before I voted Kerry in.

months they are residents of (replace Canada with the US). thier address (replace the ice road with any local American street)

basically i don't trust the government with my daily life. if those on the fleet that went down on 9/11. had waited for the government to do something that plane would have hit its target. and this is my belief, every citizen of every other country would have waited.

Not to be a butt-head but America has the best health care in the world. You just have to have the money to access it. That is the single flaw and for many a fatal one.

But no one that lives here, legal or Illegals is denied health care if it is an emergency no one!

The amount of care I received while I was In a coma in January was the best, they saved my life {well that and my fighting spirit the doctors said}.

I have read some articles in news media pretty much trashing the Canadian health care system along with the one in Great Britain, are they true? I have no way of knowing, You would know much more than I, living there. BUT Little whips mother-in-law had to wait forever to have some health care in great Britain {I forgot what it was for but is was a crucial thing}. I for one DO NOT want socialized medical health care in America, I do not like the Idea of the government having that much access to my health records or some petty Washington D.C. Bureaucrat deciding if I can have a procedure or not.

There is a difference between socialized medical health care, and universal health care.

Socialized isn't really a good thing (IMHO). And Canada's isn't socialized health care. It's simply a public insurance system. Which means everyone has access to hospitals, which means the supply is never ennough for the demand. And even if you trashed the fact that in Canada, provinces have difficulties meeting the healthcare price, the Federal governement have a really balanced budget (providing surplus!) that can help provinces in the need.

Off course in USA the waiting isn't long, but it's because peoples can't afford going to the hospital in the first place.

It would be one thing to mandate health care (univerisal), but they are gearing up to have the government provide it (socialized). They call it universal, but as you point out, it is socialized.
