TMB, have you seen a nutritionist? With high blood pressure, you may not want to be doing the low carb thing. I have high bp and low carb diets do really bad things to me. That "woosey" feeling that you are getting may be blood sugar or blood pressure related.
I have been following the more sensible and more balanced diet of a doctor prescribed diabetic diet. I have lost weight faster, have had more energy and feel better about what I am eating more so than any other diet I have tried. It has also brought down my blood sugar, blood pressure and heart rate. Most nutritionists get very uncomfortable at the low carb lifestyle. If you have health issues, you need all the fresh fruits that you can't realistically have on a low carb diet. Fresh fruit, veggies, low fat protein, low fat dairy and whole grains will help you feel better and give you more eating options. I have a couple quotes from my nutritionist:
1) You didn't gain this weight quickly, and you shouldn't lose it too quickly either as that is a shock on your system.
2) If everyone would just remember that moderation is key, we wouldn't have as many overweight people and health problems caused by being overweight
3) The food pyramid still holds true today for a healthy eating habit
4) (When asked about the low carb diet) Italians eat carbs with just about every meal and eat very little meat. How come their population doesn't have an obesity problem or how come heart disease pretty much doesn't exist there?
5) Nobody got fat from eating fruits and vegetables.
Nutritionists really can help you.
