How Do You Get A Ship To Do A "Sector Sweep"

same as topic I've been looking through the F'ing manual for info on how to get ships to do "sector sweeps". I know it is possible as I've read that others have gotten their ships to do this.....

Double-click on the ship to bring up the detail screen. There will be a number of options down the left-hand side of the screen. One of the them is sector-sweep.

I've only tried it once, but it seems like the ship zips around the sector in a cross-hatch pattern. Not real useful as far as I can see unless maybe you have very low sensors and are trying to make sure an enemy ship doesn't slip through your sector.

I just want it so I can't set up about 4 or 5 battleships per sector i own and they can intercept the enmy ships that come my way, and I can concentrate my efforts elsewhere. Thnaks for the help Ringlord.

If you move a ship into a corner of a NEW sector and then turn on sector sweep the ship will fully explore that new sector. Very useful to get a piccie of the sectors near/next to you. :D
