Make sure that "Show pre-release versions" is checked at the bottom of Stardock Central when you're in the Games section. That'll do it.

Just select it in SDC and click the install button next to it. Make sure you have 'show prerelease versions' checked at the bottom.

just to confirm, July 31 has passed (it is aug 12) and I have no pre-order in. So, if I pre-order now I will have to wait to play the beta 3 OR the final retail but certainly cannot get the beta 2 at this point??

You can stile join beta 2, by using tokens to get it. Thats the only way to get into beta 2 NOW
But if you preorder today in the normal way, you will be able to join the beta 3 around late august early september

Look around , maybe there is another game you want, or see if you can get a refund for the 5 you didn't use , or just save them for the inevitable expansion...

jets n guns gold is also a good option, as is space rangers 2, all are really good games

I found out about this tonight and i'm willing to pre-order it for the beta.

however I'm confused by the advice above, do I need to get a totalgaming membership to get this game? Or simply pre-order the game through clicking on the pre-order with 5-tokens, and buy it from there?

Your forum account is the same thing - it works across all of Stardock's websites. You don't need to make another.

If you want to get into Beta 2, you can pay $69.95 to become a TotalGaming.net member and receive 10 tokens. You can then spend 5 of those for Sins and immediately download the beta, all future betas of the game, and the final version.

Or, if you want to wait for Beta 3, you can use a credit card. You'll be charged $44.95 when Beta 3 is released (you may see a hold on the funds for a few days, which depends on your bank).
