Tell me why we don't want these candidates as President

I know the election is still off in the distance, and that primary season hasn't heated up, but I'm trying to learn about the candidates as early as possible, and want help in coming up with the reasons why any of the various candidates that have currently lined up, or clearly signaled that they are lined up to run, for President of the United States are individuals that we don't want to win the job.

To lay it out as clearly and as simply as possible, take a candidate, any of the available candidates that have announced they are running, and dedicate a paragraph or two (in a reply here) to tell me and everyone else why that person is someone we should hope doesn't win the nomination or the Presidency.

Don't bash the current President (he'll be gone soon enough, so please leave him out of it) and don't waste time giving me reasons why we *do* want a candidate you favor.  I'm not looking for reasons to support a candidate here, I'm looking for reasons why don't want to support a candidate and should be hoping that they don't get the job.  (Look for another thread in a bit where you can tell me *why you do* want to support a candidate.)

Lets keep the negatives together here for everyone to read and discuss.

If you do believe someone is way off base in their choice of why they'd not like a certain candidate to win, then please feel free to argue that point here, but don't just come out and say I'm supporting so-and-so and not give reasons why you don't support someone else here.  Again, I want to know why you don't want to see certain candidates win.  Be it because you think they are too liberal, too conservative, too old, too crazy, whatever.

For the record, I'm trying to stay out of the active discussion on this one and would prefer to see what others think, rather than give you my own reasons (however illogical they may be ) so I'll try to stay more as a lurker for this thread than as an active participant.

"Don't bash the current President."

I won't. Let's just hope the next one is better. Personally, as an outsider, I'd like Al Gore to run again. Why? Because unless we see a really capable personality coming up to the plate, the pickings are poor. Mediocre you've had. Better than Reagan, you haven't.

McCain is too hawkish (and too old ).

Giuliani is a nutjob, and likes to say he did something following 9/11. What did he do? Look pretty on the TV.

Romney is too much of a flip-flopper.

Edwards is too rich, and too much of a pretty boy, riding the popularity of his wife's battle with cancer.

Clinton is too much of a dividing force rather than a uniting force.

Why we don't want Hillary Clinton:

Hillary is elusive, refusing to be pinned down on the issues or on any of her serious plans. All of her goals are vague and general, with no suggestions as to how to achieve them. Like her husband, she can say nothing in more words than most people.

She's negative, she's divisive, she's noncommital and inconsistent. In terms of popularity, she is the antithesis of Bill, who is arguably the second most popular president in terms of personality in the 20th century. Of all the charges that can be put on Bill, being rude and distant is one that never applied. The same can't be said of Hil.

If Hil were gunning for the anchor position of the channel 6 news, I'd be in her corner. But leader of the United States? She's not ready, never WILL be ready, and any woman planning on voting for her solely because she is a woman should be ASHAMED of themselves and their shallow nature!

The candidates on the democrat side are generally all the same.  Most, if not all, are weak on terrorism and national defense.  You see they would rather lose in Iraq than lose in '08.  Iran is becoming a serious problem and the time is coming close to where an altercation is probable, and although Republicans are quite weak on this issue as well, at the least Republicans won't worry about world "opinion" if the time comes to act.

The next best reason is the democrats agenda on taxes and health care.  Several candidates have already come out in favor of national health care at the expense of a certain class of taxpayers, and it's no secret they want to raise taxes.

The republican field is not much better unfortunately.  The only real front runners right now are Romney and Rudy.  I think Rudy has a slight chance, but Romneys campaign will fall flat soon enough.  The same goes for McCain as his campaign is already in shambles, and he just has no shot at the nomination.

Ron Paul, although popular with internet loons and the left, will never translate into real votes.  His "blame America" attitude and his lack of reality when dealing with islamic terrorism is a no go.

The rest of the republican candidates are just useless, no reason to waste my time on them.

The one to watch now is Fred Thompson.

I'd like Al Gore to run again.

As much as I dislike Hillary, Gore scares me more.  He does not have the mental stability for the job.
