Smartguard problem

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction regarding Smartguard. I've got 2 SATA drives in my brand new system and they are both SMART capable and, in fact, I've enabled SMART in my system BIOS instead of just leaving it on AUTO. The problem is that no information shows up in the Smartguard section within TweakVista. Help me Obi-wan, your my only hope!

Thanks in advance (I hope),

Hmm. I'm afraid I may not be able to give you a good solution for this. SATA presents certain problems for getting SMART information. The usual one is that the drivers simply don't pass on the SMART requests correctly. My immediate suggestion would be to check to see if there is a later revision of your chipset drivers that might offer better support. There may also be a tool to turn on SMART on the driver side.

I would also be interested to know if HD Tune works on your computer (and by works, I mean that it should be able to retrieve SMART information - the Health tab should have a list of values) and the Info tab should display a serial and a standard. If not, it is likely that TweakVista will not work either. TweakVista does not display drives for which it cannot retrieve information.
