Toward that note, the admin at eamped is hinting at not being able to get the database back from the crashed system. Sounds strange to say the least, but bottom line is...I'm with you, neilo. If freeforums is our next stop, I'll do whatever I can to help.

Keep in mind that I'm working long hours and weekends right now and I have two requests to set up networks ahead of the Tyranny once I can get off of these shifts. That, and the wife would probably like to visit a little one of these days.

It does not look good for our old forum so...i have just the other night signed up for a new one.....

It is not ready as i was mainly just reserving our name there should we decide to make the move but i will do what i can to get it up and running. Though many...many of our strategy post will be lost forever, but we can, over time delve back into our evil domination tactics once more and help spread the word...whilst shaving a few kittens along the way!!

I report this, not as a threat to the Tyranny, but simply because I'm in awe of this player and he/she really deserves some praise.



This is SpaceTimer, a real one man army. On the Altmeta, he's only 400K behind us or for this player, about one day's work in just ONE GAME. Here's how this ONE character stands against 31 Ranked Tyranny-ers in the Altmeta.



In the Official Metaverse, his score is only limited by the high number of games he has(19). I applaud Spacetimer, I truly do. Bravo!

Note that in the universal category, he/she is 2nd though he only plays small games, while the rest of the people in Universal play Huge and Gigantic. If Spacetimer were to join the Tyranny, we would be instantly propelled to 2nd place in the Altmeta. Even more amazing is that it'd only take one or two of his/her small 2 million pts games to unseat Mumble as No.1 in the Official MV.

Wow, 2mil on small in 2 years. Begs the question of an unknown bug or something. But fantastic score regardless, congrats!

Yes, good scores. He's apparently found something in there. Maybe we'll all find out in the beta reports sometime down the road. Whatever it is, I'll bet it took some effort to find and use it.

@neilo - I've been to the new Tyranny forums. If you'll upgrade me, I can start working on stuff when I can get to it. The forums there seem much faster than the eamped ones. Better load balancing, methinks. I like.   

agreed, amazing scores...though, my natural cautious nature would ask about how one managed 2 million points in a small galaxy. I've seen scores like that in huge and gigantic but never in one that small, and that's with looking at players who really know the tricks too. But, this is could all be my ignorance and lack of know-how, i don't want to begrudge a well-played game.

A request to Firebender. Quit showing us this kind of stuff (Spacetimer's super high scores). I already think my scores suck as they are (especially when I look at the scores some of you guys post) and seeing stuff like this is causing my manhood to further degrade. HAHAHA! It kinda sucks that we may lose all the info from the TofE forums, I was just starting to read up on all the old posts you guys had on there. Oh well.

You should've seen my scores. Ever got 4400 pts on a medium in 10 years while on challenging in a military victory? I did. I erased them all though. Plus, I don't even know how to play a map over medium.

Y'know that ultimate homeworld's post at the ToE forums we had. I bet you never saw anything like this.

Look more carefully and you see that there isn't a single normal tile! (except for the spaceport and colony capital) This is for my current Small Suicidal, should make for 25K... I hope.

I saw Spacetimer's scores too and my first thought was that he most likely cheated in some way. 2 million on a small map seems totally improbable. Stardock is aware and may be looking into it.

Maybe Mumble or someone who gets megascores will chime in and shed some light on the possibility of such a score.

why can't I get worlds like that FireBender? How many planets are you playing with in the setup? It seems, though not always, that rare maps have a higher confluence of resources than larger maps.

Check out Drriders post with his buggy homeworlds....he was getting multiple Precursor tiles with every start.

Now if there was just a Econ bonus tile I'd be set. Hopefully there is an Econ resource nearby that I can claim.

well hmmm, something went wrong. I think it must have happened when I flipped out of the window at some point, I don't know what else could have caused it but now my available buildings are gone and I only have a choice of 4 very basic structures. Looks like I'm gonna have to send in a save game. Does anyone remember who you send saved games too?

well damn, its worse than I thought. Its like the buildings are all gone altogether. I've quit and restarted, and even changed races, and all I'm getting is the basic four (basic factory, basic lab, entertainment center, and market center)

What's strange though is that it was working during the game, it was like everything got deleted midgame. Now to see if its just the Metaverse files or in normal games too.

I would have to agree that 2 million on a 2 year small game is somewhat incredulous. AFAIK the best ever score in any previous game is my 957K DL v1.4x game which was an 8 year gigantic galaxy where I had 95% of the galaxy conquered and all of the abundant galaxy resources fully mined prior to the end of reported year 1.

In this game I had over 25,000 ships under a fully populated 24 military SB array and 16,000 of them had been upgraded to full BHE missile boat status which with my weapons and defense bonus resulted in an attack/defense rating of over 1500 per ship in addition to the 1500 per ship attack/defense increase provided by the 24 military SB array.

Overall my military rating was about 14 million for about the last 4 game years. My population reached it's final 8.4 trillion value mid point of reported year two and was held throught the rest of the game. I had the tech tree fully researched before the end of reported year 1.

Plus throughout the entire game starting from Novemeber of 2226 (DL) I had the economic prosperity event in play and my income for the last 6 years of the game was in excess of 1.6 million bc's per turn which I spent down to below 20K each and every turn.

There is no conceivable way that this kind of a score could be doubled in a 2 year small galaxy DA game without some form of exploit and/or outright cheating. Even the 2 year 500K small DA game is so far out of the realm of the reasonable as to validate an outright accusation of cheating.
