Is ANNO one of those Facebook games?  Mafia Wars was my last Facebook game, but there was another MMO I remember getting into once upon a time. That's right, Evony.  We played it as a team and the bots finally got us.  I felt like setting up bots was giving too much of my life away to a game.  We did pretty well against them for a while though.

I liked the Yor in DA.  In TotA on suicidal, the Torians are incredibly powerful.  That super breeder ability is something to contend with.  I didn't have so much of a problem with them on lower levels, but they're in every corner of the map now and my relationship with them is hostile.  At least I'm neutral or better with everyone else.

It's a struggle to keep up with them and the prospect of overtaking them seems pretty far off.  Even though their military strength is better than the rest of us combined, I can't get them to go to war with anyone.  Nobody will go to war with them either.  I'll get there though.  It's only a matter of time.

If a human played Torian on this level, they'd be unstoppable.  The AI makes some serious mistakes that a human wouldn't do even on a bad day.  

Anno looks pretty nice.  15 bucks for the whole banana is pretty good too.

Are the Demigod servers still up?  I haven't played that since forever.  I'm not even sure if my skype package works anymore. 

On the GalCiv2 font, I'm not able to play for too long at a stretch.  Too many things to do.  I did, however, manage to piss the Torians off even more somehow.  They wanted me to move ships out of their territory.  Those ships are parked around my planets.  I bought a lot of ships from everyone and don't have enough planets to put them all in orbit, so I have a lot of them in fleets close to my planets.

Most of the map is Torian green though.  They just wiped the Altarians out with their influence.  My little blue spots look like infections on a big green organism.  That's probably how they view me.

I've risen up to take the #2 spot on the civ rankings, though.  Part of that is due to my gaining strength, but a lot is from the others being weakened by the Torians.  Their reach is across the board.  I've built 10 warships of my own now, but they're parked under a Spin Control Center.  I'll probably use them against one of the weakened AIs when I get enough cash to go hunting.  I could sure use some of those mining starbases of theirs.

Yeah.  I'm not even sure if our old tactics would work with TotA.  Some probably would, but likely not all.

I'm doing all labs on my current game.  I doubt that I could win on suicidal with a balanced approach.

My starting position was great.  I started almost smack dab in the middle of the map.  With the Terran diplo skill, it was the best place to be.  I got an econ event that turned the game around, too.  It didn't last long, but it was long enough for me to upgrade my planets and start a war with the weakened Korath.  I took several planets and the Drengin finished them off.

Right after the econ event went away, the inevitable happened.  The Torians had enough of my shenanigans and attacked.

I built some powerful ships when I went against the Korath. Pretty much invincible. When I turned them against the Torians, this happened...

A little underestimation on my part.  The war rages on.

As a note for those that are booting up TotA, be aware that there are some flaws in the AI (well, not so much AI behavior) as serious tech tree issues, as some of the races tech trees lack connecting technologies (either cutting them off from later game techs, or severely hampering their growth potential.  I know the Korath, Drengin, Yor, and I think Thalan (or maybe it was Iconians) definitely suffer from this.  However, some other races (Krynn, Torian, and Terrans) have much fewer tech issues (mostly since they use only a slightly modified DA generic tree)

Someone had a made a mod that fixed a lot of the glaring issues (I have it myself, but then I haven't actually truly played a GCII game in years now; almost all my video gaming time is either spent in Azeroth or playing Civilization V {Brave New World}) but I'm pretty sure the mod isn't in the Library, however I do think there's a forum post with the link.  

Anyhow, hoping to get my Founder tag for Christmas (finally should have some extra cash, even after all the gift purchases) and definitely looking forward to GCIII and hopefully some co-op play.

I'm also really glad I built my PC this year, so I can handle all the awesome stuff that Frogboy is going to throw at us. 

Yeah, I never got into the ship customization thing as far as visuals go.  I like the newer ship designs in TotA though.  The long ships seem to be based on the Honor Harrington missile ships and then there's the Borg Cube.  I didn't see a flying saucer in there, but it was easy enough to do.

Hi Silver.  Yes, I've heard that there are mods that take care of the tech tree and other buggy things in the game.  I've never played a mod version though.  

On my suicidal game, it was kinda anticlimactic after I got the proper ships to take the Torians out.  They were the only credible threat and the rest fell quickly.  I was going to do an alliance victory, but everyone had Xeno Ethics.  I could only ally with the evil races.  That wouldn't save much time, so I just took everyone out with the leftover ships.  I didn't bother building up my planets or avoiding the economic penalty and that saved a lot of time.

I've been having problems loading the games up to the Metaverse.  The first one uploaded once I set IE as my default browser.  The second one took several attempts before finally uploading.  I've tried several times to upload this latest one to no avail.  The game crashes whenever it tries. It's a good thing that the Metaverse no longer has the importance that it once had.  I just gave up on it.

Nice! Have to see how you go with Anno and hit up a MP game one day! I think i have endless space, never played it though...have to really get into some of the games i have and never looked at.
