His comments are stupid, they are differnt, he views things differntly. Sometimes he just takes his different views a little too far.

Its not about what kind of insult it was, a "light insult" or "Incredibly RUDE insult", its just that if you let some guy continue his "rude persona" to continue insulting other ppl, your just setting an example of "Inuslt ppl, nothing will happen to you..." kinda thing. Stardock just set the opposite example, the good kind, if yo go around for months anoying and insulting ppl, and you had been banned twice already, consider yourself banned...for good.

Totally wrong people, totally wrong. Kryo, even though I respect you and all that good stuff, to ban Wheeloffire was just wrong, especially over something like this. His persona was one that just 'fit' in here, regardless of his attitude.
GeneralEtrius, get a grip. I do believe you got off quite easy with regards to Wheeloffire and an inevitable flaming death, especially when asking to "be friends". He made a critique, and whether you liked it or not, it was his opinion. You should have left it at that and went on with your life, thus 'probably' prompting Wheel to leave you alone and go about his business. But alas...

I guess this means the Empire of Standards is out one leader...

I'd normally agree with you, Evil. We've become a bit too PC in general and can't seem to take a little light ribbing.

In this particular case, I see it different though. Look at the profiles. GeneralEtrius is only 13. Wheeloffire is 31. A 13 year old can't be expected to understand adult satire, especially when it's directed at him.

From what I see, Wheeloffire was warned twice, but ignored the warnings. Considering that prior bans didn't seem to help, I'd probably ban him too if it were my call.

Just my random thoughts.

I'm sorry, but that's not 'adult satire', that's just being an jackass.  The original post may not be the most amazing work of 'urban poetry' out there, but should we allow Wheel's blatant disregard of common decency? No way.

Theres a significant line between a lighthearted ribbing and unprovoked malice...I think (at least I hope) we can all agree which side of that line WheelofFire stood with his initial responce.

I can't argure with you there But since kid seems to have innocent intentions, let's give him the benifit of the doubt....though I am starting to worry that me sticking up for him will result in a rap of my own
