Hmmm, it seems Alberto Gonzales must have a large horseshoe

It seems that Alberto Gonzales will continue on as the Attorney General despite the wishes of the likes of Charles Schumer and others on the other side of the aisle.

I guess the man has a big horseshoe up his rear (perhaps accompanied by a lucky rabbit's foot, a four leaf clover and a batch of other good luck charms).

Thanks Democrats for the big waste of time in trying to drum up enough controversy to get good ol' Alberto G. to resign.  As if that ever had a chance.

Perhaps now many of that 'usual crowd' will just go back to counting down days until there's a new President.

A new Democrat president.

You realize when you put the qualifier in that you might have to wait a lot longer, don't you?

(Admittedly, it would be somewhat a surprise if the next election doesn't leave us with a Dem in the Whitehouse...)

Dude, I'd just settle for one that was actually democratically elected.

[joke, guys, it was a joke. I promise. Joke. Like, ha, ha, funny. You know, a joke. No?]

For a party that pretends to be all inclusive, their leadership sure looks lilly white to me.

don't forget arlen spector, jeff sessions, lyndsay graham and the other republicans calling for or implying that he should resign.

and that FT article is kinda funny claiming that the case has "lost momentum" ...i wouldn't be so sure of that, and the report was a bit pre-mature, don't ya think?

it would be somewhat a surprise if the next election doesn't leave us with a Dem in the Whitehouse...

again, i wouldn't be so sure. there's a long way to go. we don't even have nominees yet...hell, all the potential players haven't even entered the race.

Dude, I'd just settle for one that was actually democratically elected.

i laughed...thanks:)

well, i guess having the 1st woman speaker doesn't count for diversity, lol.

has james clyburn (majority whip) had a race change operation i don't know about? and by the way, he 's not the 1st democratic whip who was black.

harold ford jr...chairman of the DLC doesn't count?

what about john conyers who is the judiciary comittee chairman?

in addition to those and other national leaders, go into the local and state organization,,,i think you'll find much more diversity than anywhere in the GOP.

i guess it does look lily white when women don't count as "diversity" and everyone else besides harry reid is ignored.

WHo is DNC head? Since when are women a race? Since when can a party dictate to voters the color of their candidate? (Well, the DNC would like to, but still have not managed that yet).

You show me "Elected" (by citizens, not by the DNC) leaders. Now show me where the hue comes in on the democrat side within their PARTY. That is where they have the control, and have failed miserably (And dont forget to Include hastings and Jane Harman in YOUR list).

show me where reid or pelosi were elected by citizens to those positions. was dean elected? there is only 1 party leadership position that can be "elected" on the national level...it's called the president. what a strawman you have thrown up there!

Uh, No. You either did not read my full response or chose to ignore it. I am not talking about "elected" by the people (as much as they would like to think so, the Democrats are not "THE people"). I am talking about positions at the table of power in the parties control. So again, you either failed to read, or decided to ignore the salient facts.

I wonder what Jane Harman is thinking????????

did i? show me what i missed...your response, as i read and quoted...

is there something i missed there?

when i answred you, in my response, you came back with...

You show me "Elected" (by citizens, not by the DNC) leaders.

i'm sorry, are "citizens" commonly not a synonym for "the people" in this context? if you didn't mean that, then fine, but don't attack me for your lack of clarity.

looks like you are trying to arrange everything "just-so" so your premise holds water. a very selective view from where i sit. but feel free to blame it all on me, lol.

Yes they are, but they are NOT synonymous with the DNC. Again you are evading the point, or missing it.

You do not lack clarity, just comprehension. So now, please show me where the DNC (or any Democrat party orifice) is synonymous with "the People" or "Citizens".

as soon as you explain to me what the hell you are talking about. from where i sit, you made a crack...got called on it...and are now trying to use the "legalism, lecture and carefully worded denial" tact. gettin your dick cheney on?

but just to correct you...dean may be white, but what about the rest of the dnc?

mike honda - japanese
linda chavez-thompson - hispanic
lottie shakelford - black
etc, etc...

and if you are just pigeonholing the position held by dean, i seem to remember Ron Brown holding the same position. only 1 person can hold that position, kinda like the president.

sorry guy...i have no idea where you are coming from in your orig. statememnt. what are these "positions" that are "elected by the citizens" of leadership that you speak? we have already established that the congressional leadership posts aren't elected by citizens.

Got called on it, and still to be proven wrong. Yes it was a crack. But like all humor, there must be a basis in fact. As is mine. So now, you want to stop arguing around the point and get to it? or just leave it at that.

as soon as you spell it out for my dumb ass...because as far as i'm concerned, i answered your charge in spades, above and beyond and all that...we can leave it at that, if ya want. i'm fine with lettin others make their own minds up.
