Mormomism and Christianity are not the same

Mormomism and Christianity are not the same

I was going to research this issue but the reality is that I do not have to.

On the question of Mormons and Christians, do not judge these two religions as the same.

This is what I know of Mormonism:

They believe in multiple gods.

They believe God was a human once from another planet.

They believe Jesus Christ is the brother of the devil.

Their founder said he had received direct revelation from God about his religion.

They use the new and old testament, in addition to their own book of Mormon.

To me these beliefs and others of this cult are different and in direct contradiction to actual Christianity.

Christians should not be made to feel that they have to support a person who is in direct opposition to their faith just to prove they can be tolerant to other religions.

Though it is a good principal not have a religious test for political candidates there is nothing wrong in Christians not supporting a person that opposes their faith.

In addition, there is nothing wrong with Christians preferring political candidates who share their values.

Being a republican and professing a conservative belief does not mean that there is no reason to look at a person’s religion when making a political decision.

Real Christian churches do not consider the Mormon Church a legitimate church of the God of Abraham who gave His only begotten son so whosoever believes in him will have everlasting life.

Personally, I think if you're going to "clean house" in the church, you oughtta run out the backbiters, the backstabbers, the malicious gossips and the like before you put the Mormons to the sword.

Seems Matthew 7:3 is certainly one no one ever remembers...

AW forget it SC...I am feeling bitchy today, that's the only reason I even responded.

Sorry.

It's okay. Why do you think I responded in the way I did, too? I'm feeling bitchy.

But frankly, if Sharpton is the one who measures one's Christianity, go ahead and label me pagan. I don't give a damn about anybody's label - I am who I am, I believe what I believe, and anyone who says that I'm a pagan/cultist/non-believer can just say whatever they want.

Come on. I was a traveling minister. The thick skin comes with the job.

Well actually I've been doing some reading...heh, scary ain't it?

Truth is, I know just enough about LDS to get my foot to my mouth.

The only qualifications (I know of) to be Christian is accepting Jesus Christ as Personal Lord and Savior. All the other stuff HE will work out here or in heaven (as far as I'm concerned).

So I will not be discussing this again....and if I do get sucked in, please remind me about the foot to mouth rash this subject causes in me.

BAKERSTREET POSTS:
If Romney is the candidate and anyone votes Dem because he isn't "Christian" they need to have their head examined.

Well said, BS, well said.
