Whenever it comes out, I just hope it doesn't have useless Disasters, like SimCity 3000's Whirlpool.

I hope it feels more like the old SimCity and not the 4th game. I don't know why, but that one always spiralled down to boredom for me. Possibly because you can only improve a region so much, and then you have to set up about 15 more regions to improve your original region further.

I got Sim City 4 when it first came out, and gave up on it. Too much flaky behavior where things didn't work as they should, and not much in the way of patch support from Maxis.

I might look into Sim City 5, but not until it's been out a while and I'd first scoped out the forums to see how things stood.

Sim city - hmmm do you get to kill aliens in sim city?

Do you get to build armies and fight wars?

Do you get to build expensive wonders like the pyramids of egypt?

If the answer is no to the above, then what is the point of it

I'd rather play Capitalism III (Or II which I have) than any Sim City. Just not enough to do except lay roads and land and piddle with city employees who complain about everything you do. You guys want a real test of metal in a business sense play Capitalism II, that's a game with real meat. My other favorite business simulation is/was Industry Giant II, but, unfortunately it doesn't work on newer video cards and that means having to play it on another system or changing out my video card everytime I feel like playing it. Tropico is also probably my favorite of favorites. I love the music and the fact that I can change the lil peoples names to what i want and watch what happens to their lives and lives of their offspring. Sim Cities though? Nah, mere childs toys.

hehehe yea probably. I have actually played sim city, and it was kinda fun but i realised i have no main goal, no big purpose to work towards (as mentioned in my previous post) so i realised it was totally pointless and lost all interest.

Guys, Simcity 5 is gonna be called SIMCITY: Societies. Also Tilted Mill is working on it. Maxis is working on that f^^^ing retarded Spore thing. Tilted Mill has simplified the game play alot. Judging by what they have said so far, there will be no zones, no water pipe, and possibly no disasters.   DAMN IT!  Also, this game is going to be like City Life (a bullshit game), which six different cultures.

I might give this one a try, but for now, it looks like Tilted Mill, who has made several city builders that have scored poor reviews, has screwed up one of the PC's greatest titles

While I agree that Simcity Societies looks like rubbish, I don't believe that it is SimCity 5, I believe it is like The Sims: Life Stories & Co. versus the original The Sims. A Spinoff (a bad one). At least I really hope so.

There's nothing like building a metropolis from scratch. Just hope that the true simcity5 will have 3d... walking around in your city as a actual inhabitant), drool.

Yeah, Tilted Mills games are just garbage. Plain garbage.

Plus, they say that placing separate buildings is a first for a modern city builder.
I'd say to them: Go check out City Life, retards. You will see that its just as crappy as your game.

Personally, I might just mod Simcity 4, by making the camera 3D (the game's 3D, but the camera is just restricted is isometric view), and adding new content.

I might get Spore, I might not. Right now, I'm just pretty pissed at Will Wright for abandoning Simcity

Wow what are you guys smoking? Tilted Mill made Pharoah, the single best city/civ builder ever.. bar none. That game is a classic.

Other than simcity 5, simcity 4 (deluxe) was the latest version, right?

One thing I found out was that Maxis has little to no part in Simcity 5, damn you tilted mills, they just got impatient and figured they could take over the goldmine that is simcity, and it looks like they're gonna fail horribly...

No, they didn't. They made "Children of the Nile," which was a crappy Pharaoh rip off with 3d graphics and weaker game play. Pharaoh was made by Impressions Games. Some of the members of Impressions moved to Tilted Mill when that studio closed, but nothing Tilted Mill has produced has been anywhere near as good as the old Impressions games.

For my part, I'll stick with SC4. Societies looks like crap and I've no faith that TM can exceed my very low expectations.

Spore is supposed to be a "life" simulator, where you evolve a life form, and develop it as it goes through time, such as going from a nomadic tribe to a galaxy spanning civilization. I read more about it, and it actually sounds pretty cool  

But still, Tilted Mill is really bad at city builders. I'll wait a couple more years for the next Simcity 5.

I saw that it was coming out in November. Why do you think City Life is that bad? It looks more interseting than the new Sim City.
