Dream-on Vista

I just purchased the revolving earth for dreamscape. It loaded, but when you click on it
you just get a screen flicker and nothing.

I am on an AMD 64 Dual Core 3800 + 64bit Windows Vista Ultima, with an Asus Extreme N6800
GT Video card. 1 GB of memory, a Seagate ATA 3.0G 250GB Hard drive. An Abit AN8 SLI MB

Thanks
James

you can try updating your vid card drivers and see if that helps out any.is your system overclocked at all? if so this maybe the cause of the problem as well.alot of programs will detect a OC'ed system and will fail to load.

Hi

Thanks, but not overclocked. Various dreamscenes load fine, but not the revolving earth. I did as suggested and loaded update drivers for the video card, but the earth still has no sign of life. The waterfalls works fine the Nebula works fine.

Are you running DeskScapes 1.01?

Why are you clicking on the revolving earth. It is a dream. It doesn't do anything. I don't care if you have a 430,000 computer, all it does is turn. It does change as the time changes. Watch it, and find the US, and when it starts getting dark whever you are, the globe will show lights coming on. I still don't understand why you think if you click on it, it does something. That's like clicking on a wallpaper of a flower, and think a bee is going to fly up. IT'S A DREAM. THAT'S ALL.

I think Hippie has it right, looks like Cpoet thinks it should do more than it does.

I don't know... I think he meant Installed not Loaded. I could be wrong.

Some more ram wouldn't hurt. Especially running a Dual Core 64bit with Ultimate

A screenshot might be nice accompanied by a better description of the problem.

Hi folks, and thanks for the replies. No at 73, I don't think I'm stupid, nor am I
exceptionally bright, but when you download some of the Dreamscapes offered you can
use them whenever you feel the urge. You click on the program and away you go.

However I downloaded the EARTH program, then went to add it to my list and it is
in plain sight, listed under "Dreamscape" When you want this to show up on your desktop
the screen blinks and nothing. The screen turns black with the Vista taskbar at the bottom and the Side bar in full view. It might be I need more memory, which will come
if I live that long.

PS: I build these things, but am no Wiz Kid like most of you.

IS IT NOT supposed to show up on the desktop????? IT doesn't
