How Many Handouts are Enough?

Since the 2008 Presidential election is already in motion the democrats have started their usual pandering to poor people in this country to rack up some votes.  I started thinking about the types of handouts and entitlements that the liberals and democrats have been complaining we need and need more of and realized it's quite a list.

  • Welfare
  • Food Stamps
  • Medicine should be provided
  • Health care should be provided
  • Housing should be discounted or free
  • Houses should be rebuilt if destroyed
  • Child care should be provided

Thats just a few things off the top of my head, and still that is quite a list.  I mean why would you need to work, it's all provided for you right there and mostly provided by the taxpayers who take responsibility for their lives and work for a living.  So how many handouts is enough in this country?

How much is enough?  Never enough.  For the things they cried about 20-30-40 years ago, and got, they now want more.  Give them all of this, and they will want more. 

Before it was enough that some one had food.  Now it has to be steaks and champaign.  Before it was a house, now a house, 2 cars, TV, Cable, DVD, VHS, etc........

It will always be something more.  Until there is no one to tax to give them more.

Yes, I know there is a huge list of programs, but as usual the people who complain about the federal budget don't seem to mind.

any and/or all of these programs are good as long as they are not like

welfare and medicaid programs are/were being status quo keeper

i don't know if this is still true but a senior citizen who qualifies for medicaid but owns a house doesn't qualify

if a person was on welfare and went out and got a job they would get cut off now not in a month or after the first check but now

i am talking about a 20,000 house that these people have spent 40 years buying and now the government is going to make them sell it becuse it is the only assit that they have

but it doesn't mean anything whether it is a 5,000 house or a 200,000 house if they qualify for help then they qualify for help
