My CursorXP Stopped Working

for no apparent reason

I've been using CursorXP for a little while now, but all of a sudden it's stopped working. It says that it's working but it's really not. I can open Configre CursorXP, and I can see and use the tab if I just do Control Panel>Mouse, but no matter what changes I make there my cursor stays the same. I can use the "Pointers" tab under Control Panel>Mouse to change the cursor, but CursorXP is giving me nothing. I've uninstalled/reinstalled multiple times now and rebooted my computer multiple times as well, but nothing that I've tried seems to be working.
I really want my custom cursor back, does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on what to do?
Thanks in advance,
Dave

I don't really have any virus-protection software that is always active that would effect it. And besides it was working before, why would that just start effecting it now? The only thing that was changed when it stopped working was I updated my oldass version of WB to the newest 5.1 or whatever it is now.

It's bothersome, but no worries I suppose. Exactly simultaneously with this messing up my Opera internet browser has ceased functioning as well (it's doing the same thing also for no apparent reason) so I think in about 2 weeks when I get back home from school I'm going to run a reformat on my main HD and just start over.
Thank you for your help though, I really appreciate it.

I would agree with a complete format...sounds like you caught something Not a Stardock issue. Also MAKE SURE that you do all the windows updates before installing any other software....there is one for animated cursors that is very important.

I have the exact same problem except that my cursor xp comes back for a while after reboot but then goes away. I am trying to isolate what triggers its stopping working but so far no luck. I have been using all same virus/spyware apps for months with no adverse effect on cursor xp. I did get new Logitech mouse/keyboard which uses Logitech Setpoint control app so perhaps this is the problem.I would appreciate any input as I hate looking at those boring bland cursors.
