Rainlender skin rejected.......why?

I got an email that said upload has not met our guidelines and has been rejected. I reviewed the guidelines and I'm still not quite sure the reason why.

FUNCTIONALITY: I've had it on my desktop for a full week before I submitted it and it worked fine. So I don't see this as the problem. Well maybe because I used the .ini format instead of the xml-format (which I have no clue how to do)

RIPPING: This one maybe it because I made it to match this suite Transformers: Decepticons
By SKoriginals
. You can see a picture of my Rainy on my page on my desktop screenshot

COPYRIGHT AND TRADEMARK: This may be it also, but I doubt it. I used 12 different Transformers and the decepticon logo, but I've uploaded a boot screen and wmp skin that uses these and that was fine.

ADVERTISEMENT: Nope, none of that anywhere in my skin.

NUDITY AND PORNOGRAPHY: Nope, well the transformers don't wear cloths but you know.

WALLPAPER MODERATION: Doesn't apply (I don't think)

Is there anyway to find out the specific reason(s)

Sorry for the long winded post, I'm still new to all this. And thank you.

Usually the email states which rule was violated.  Are you sure yours does not?

Did you get permission from SKoriginals? That sounds like what you would need to post it.

double post

If you used any of the images from the skoriginal skin you would need permission.

I don't think I used an Image, I used the gradiant to match the windows. But I guess I will try to ask skoriginal if I can have permission. And see if that helps.

I dunno. I only received reasons on a few occasions. Maybe my stuff was that crappy they figured I should be able to figure it out myself. lol

That will be the reason.

When 'matching' another person's work [in other words attempting to create a 'suite' of works by adding to an existing skinned proggy with what is argued/called a 'port'] you are required to seek/obtain prior consent from the original source of inspiration, in this case SKOriginals.

Unfortunately, sometimes an email goes out without an edited/added reason, though the intent is for some clarification be provided there-in ....

The suite you are talking about was a community effort done by a lot of skinners from skinning net. It would depend on what graphics you used as to who you would need permission from. If you used graphics from the W/B then you need to talk to SKOriginals like po said.

nimbletongue: That was me. [I'm one of the 'new' guys ]

Yes, It was because there was no permission.txt in the zip, but I thought the email would automatically include that.

It didn't, my bad ...sorry. Though hopefully there won't be a 'next' time ~where I will include the reason.

Don't feel bad bro. I made a Naruto and Hinata logon screen and it was rejected and there wasn't a reason posted. I feel that I know why that one was rejected though. I found the pic that I had used for it on the net somewhere and there wasn't an author on it or any type of contact info for the author so I wasn't able to get permission. Other than that I can't think of why it would be turned down. I've now turned to using screen shots from video games that I play, mostly the scenery, to make my logons. I'm looking to become a master skinner for logons but so far, I'm not having much luck. If anyone has a pic they'd like used for a logon, email it to me and I'll see what I can do.

DulakQuickleaf, Yes that was the reason, and I did send you an email telling you that back in June.

Then try making your own graphics and not relying on others work...

I'd try using my own art but my artistic talent bites. I can't even draw a stick man correctly on paper let alone do anything like that on a PC lol.
