Hi, Im kind of new to the metaverse and i need some help. firstly, my serial number on my galactic civilization 2 packet (as it would seem) isn't valiad, it keeps coming up with "error 4". Why is that?
Another thing is i hear that the Metaverse keeps track of your games and adds to your points which then expands your empire, now i see heaps of friends have joined into one empire, the problem is that i don't have any friend to join up with. is it possible to join with a random group? I'm an experienced player, i'm just new to the metaverse.
one last thing, i have found that you people have made stuff (ship models, maps and put stuff from other games onto Galactic Civilizations 2), and uploaded them to the metaverse for others to use. how do i create stuff like that?

Any help you could give me would be great.

As far as the serial number problem there are many potential causes. I'm really not all that familiar with any of them or what an error 4 is. There are a number of posts dealing with this issue, just search on "serial" and you'll get more more than you could ever hope to go through. The best bet are the two sticky posts Can't activate or register the game? See here first! or STICKY: Getting the game Downloaded!. If all else fails send an email to [email protected].

As far as metaverse empires, yes you can usually join most any empire you want or start up your own. Some few empires are set up to require an invitation to join but most are open to everyone. It's a good idea to check them out before joining but you can always leave an empire you don't like and join another. Some empires may be defunct. Check out any thread the empire may have or their web site if they have one.

There are significant mods from many different sources. There's a modding guide in the Galactic Databank. There are also a number of threads regarding mods and modding as well as an entire Modding forum.

You take screenshots by hitting your "Print Screen" button to capture the whole screen or Alt-Print Screen to capture the current window. From there open up Paint or something equivilent, paste the captured image, crop or edit it as you wish and then save it as a jpg. From there upload the jpg to http://imageshack.us/ and you'll get a link that you can include in your posts.

Alright, seems like a good deal to me. thank you for offering me a place in your empire, but i might actually start up a new empire. "The Light Allaince" might attract a few people. hell, i've got nothing againest your empire, i might even create a character to join your empire. but i will see you at the top of that ladder.



I think you miss understood what i ment when i said stuff about the mods, what i mean is you people have put stuff like the USS Enterprize on there, i'm wondering how you make them, what program do you use?

well, there is anthor but the choice is up to you mate. a new one is 'Roamers', a really good first class empire. all it need is the people and the points.
