noiram, I looked at the thread and have to say I am confused. Did you get it straightened out?

For avatars- the files need to be 50x50 jpg files.

For Misc Icons and OD icons- I have always used 256x256 png files

When you upload them, put them in a regular zip file. You can do this with windows or with winzip.

Those icons are good. If they are being rejected it has to be because of how you are uploading them. Either they are in the wrong format or they are not in a zip file. But they are good and should be approved.

Alperium, I love the second wall. It's very pop-abstract and I thinks it's good. I don't like window stuff, but if I had to pick a window logo wall for my desktop, that would be it.

Po'Smedley, thanks for the advice. Erk sent me email stating that the zips were making OD+ crash so I went through everything and am making sure they are right, also ran crap cleaner, defrag and anti virus software to make sure its all clean and am going to try again. Thanks again for your info

What are you using to zip them?
I usually use winzip, but before I had that, I just used the Windows zip/compress option. Should be able to just right click on the file and click 'send to' and 'compressed zip folder'.

I don't know how you are doing it, but don't put them in folders and then zip the folder. I had mine sent back when I did that. 'thumb' files get in those folders sometimes and for some reason they don't like that. I guess because nasty stuff can attach itself to the thumb file.

Thumb files are specific to the host machine and are totally useless on the downloader's so there is no point in including them.

They also can be quite huge, often actually bigger than the whole skin itself...which is a simple waste of upload/download...as there's no prize given for the biggest skin file...

I've been using 7zip which does just about everything. In the case of one of my avatar sets it has a jpg folder and a png folder and a psd folder which is like some of the avatar sets that Quenten94 has done with 26 alphabet avatars in each folder. The first time I uploaded them, they weren't in folders. They are nice but if they don't make it this time (no big deal). As for everything else they get their own special zip by themselves.
For misc.icons I got a email saying they were rejected cause misc.icons is for .ico only, not .png
Well I fixed everything according to everyones advice on how to do it, we will see what happens this time   I am still hopeful  

So... I just found out that everytime i submitted wallpapers and cursors, I selected the box that sends your file to your site ONLY. So i re-submitted alot, but fear not, i still keep being promoted to the Elites.

Question...will deleting the thumbs before you zip the folder keep any nasties out. Ever since that happened to one of my rainys I've been doing that. Anyway...another one to my personal page. Seems the canyon got lost instead of getting lost in it. Chocolate please...little peanut butter on the side...hold the jelly.

While the zip is open just rightclick on the Thumbs db and click delete. You may have more than one thumbs db depending on what your zipping so delete them all. RightClick skins often have 2 Thumb db's to delete. As Jafo said its only because they increase the size of your file and have to be deleted by the uploader.
