Gauss Cannon Mod... Beta 2 Update!

Gauss Cannon Mod... Beta 2 Update!

Cannon's now fire 3 rounds per volley!

UPDATE: This is still the same for BETA 2, no code changes, so it works fine

They don't do any more damage, rather they fire 3 rounds per volley. And still require their normal cool down period. It looks a lot better IMHO...

Super easy to do....

Go into the PLANETMODULE_TECHORBITALGAUSSDEFENSE.entity file and change 2 of the variables.

BurstCount 3
BurstDelay 0.250000

Its that simple!

Here is a picture of the new Gauss Cannon

speaking of moding, i do know alittle about editing but the model part would be nice to be something like a lego building block with all types of shapes included with mod tools

would those plans be adding 200 auto cannons to 1 side of the ship causing it to spin out of control when it fires ?

hey, how do you take out the main menu interface so you can see the whole screen without the interface.

Toggle the interface with Ctrl-Shift-Z.

Well, I know that most, if not all of us realise that we're not going to see any sort of modding tools until after the game finally goes gold for the simple reason that the game changes every patch and update, especially the mesh files and how the game uses them. Anything we've changed would have to be completly redone to work with the new game, also why our saves between versions are useless. However, it is nice for us who love to tinker with the game to be able to tweak the values just to find that happy point where everything works great. Like for example, I really enjoy the change to the Gauss Cannons. I've tried messing around with the values, just like everyone else here. And I agree with lordkosc: 3 shots at 8.5k range really made the game something better, even if I was on the receiving end.

I just think it was very trusting of them at IronClad to keep the code so open like this that we could almost completly remake the game if we wanted. Want that LRM Frig to be able to take down a Kol in one Salvo? Go for it. Why? Because I can and because I think it would look cool. Is it going to make the final game? Oh hell no, and you should be smacked with a frozen trout for even asking.
