Are you using XP? Is it the English version of XP?

Has it ever worked before?

So did this problem with Logon Studio start after you installed Bootskin?

Bootskin is not compatible with all computers and if the problem happened after you installed it, that is most likely the problem.

It sounds like a bad logon file. Do you have the name and a link to the logon that is causing the problem? Or is the problem with all of the logons now?

try uninstalling logon studio completely, then running a registry cleaner to remove all traces of the program, then download the latest version again from stardock, install that and see how you go, good luck mate

If you can restore the default XP logon via LogonStudio, suggest you do so and then uninstall > reboot > reinstall LogonStudio.

Note - I would also recommend removing any leftover 'LogonStudio' folder found in ':\Program Files\WinCustomize' folder before reinstalling.

Note #2 - make sure you are installing the correct version of LogonStudio. There is one for Windows XP and one for Vista.

an 'error code 52' is usually a bad filename or missing file.

[Edit] - What they said.

Try booting into Safe-Mode, and then try deleting it from there and reeboot.

And make sure you install Logonstudio for XP next time.

how do i run safe-mode?

i'm pretty sure i did install LogonStudio for XP it was the logon i was using to mimic the vista logon (:

To enter safe mode, you start pressing the 'F8' key during boot until you see the 'Boot Options' screen (which will be a list of options in highlightable text format (DOS prompts).

Select the Safe Mode option and press 'Enter' key > enter your password if you created one (or just press enter at this dialog > say 'Yes' to enter safe mode if prompted.

Note - before restarting to enter safe mode, bring up the system configuration dialog by doing the following:

Start > Run > type: msconfig > press 'Enter' key

In the system configuration utility dialog, click the 'Startup' tab and deselect any listing for 'LogonStudio' > click 'Apply' button and then 'OK' to close the dialog.

Reboot and remember to start pressing 'F8' to get to safe mode. You should now be able to remove the complete 'LogonStudio' folder from ':\Program Files\WinCustomize' folder.

Good luck.
