What happened to mouse wheel zooming?

Used to be when you zoomed on the mouse wheel it'd travel towards the cursor (this was good) now it merely zooms in (this is bad). Anyway to go back to the old setup?

yep, turn off the camera lock thingy at the top of the user interface.

turned on or off I find the zoom to be inconsistant with zooming in using the wheel to specific areas.

yeah its not 100% perfect,but it does work for the general area...
