initial impressions

First off: great start on one of the most ambitious genre crossing I've witnessed to date. The background nebula look nice and give a nice look for the galaxy.

some things that caught my attention:

-rally points from capitol shipyards: when i set a rally in a neighboring system the capitol ships move to the edge of the building system and then sit there.

-warping large fleets and warping in general: at first it seemed a little off for the ships to be able to go to any edge of the gravity well and then jump out, but i got over that. Then main issue I have is when moving a large fleet with varying ship sizes it all breaks apart and just trickles in 1 ship after another. The option to have them all warp at the same time would be nice.

-collision awareness: fighters flying through structures happens frequently.

-diplomacy: i'm assuming at this point it really isn't that integrated yet, but it seems very hard to NOT shoot at non-aligned units even with auto fire off. Seems that there really isn't an option to increase your standing or favor with the other players except by leaving them alone. Having some kind of good-will option might be nice.

-construction frigates: there was a period when my home system (never got attacked) didn't have a constructor. When i saved and reloaded it was there.

can't think of anything else at the moment. Only had an hour or 2 with it. Good job so far, hope this helps!

oh! When having multiple capitol ships together it is very difficult to switch between then (to use abilities, upgrade, etc). There's so much room open in the UI that I wouldn't mind having a window on the side showing icons of all the ship currently selected so that we could switch between them.

Also when having multiple ships selected, if i wanted to change their defense posture i have to do it for every single one, it would have easy to just have them all adopt the same setting

Haven't checked, but they might be flying around, while the icon goes through?

And as a reaction to the request for player customizable ships: what about allowing a certain amount of stat tweaking on capitol ships. Like Increasing the effectiveness of certain weapons while decreasing that of others. Something like that maybe.

Personally I believe that's all anyone really has time for. Unless you add some kind of ship editor that is accessible outside of the actual game play as it would just suck up too much time.

And it just seems to take too long to get a frigate with the function to attack other frigates or even cap ships. The Flak frigate just seems to be in service for too long before you get the next front line ship. Maybe lowering it in the tech tree some would help. Unless of course there are more ships to fill the gap that we haven't sen yet

I was zoomed in at the time. It was in the tutorial.

Thanks for the valid points, they do indeed help.

This is possible by selecting the ships you want to jump, then right clicking the move button to change them all into Grouped Phase Jump. You should see three green arrows instead of one.
