About the arterfact techs

Hi,

I played a game with the artifact techs on and noticed that i could not got all off them during the course of a play.

I conquered all the galaxy save one world and yet i got only 4 out the 9 artifacts tech possible.
I noticed also that i could find twice a given artifact in the universe.

How the artifacts should work in this game ?

Hi McFungos! Congrads on conquering the galaxy.
For beta the artifact system is not fully implemented. You can expect many cool artifacts to come

Wow, what are your system specs?

He posted it awhile back, it was like "shock and awe" when we read the specs... I don't think I've fully recovered from that day...

I played sins for the first time to day, Imo there is way to little research .
But then again there can be too much. But there should at least have twice the amount there is now. I plow through the research too fast.

I gotta agree somewhat - upping the costs and time wont solve it either.. I think for a game that somewhat wishes to take over the best things of a RTS and 4X game. The research tree should be some what bigger. Now after an hour or two of playing Im through most of the tree. I know that costs and research time might still be tweaked seeing that its not really a thing that this beta stage is all about, but in that case I would just say the research trees are really small.

I wouldnt mind seeing some more ship classes being hid in the tree, maybe some research that makes a carrier able to use more fighter/bombers/squads. Right now I dont really think the carrier is a carrier... I got other caps ships that almost got the same amount of squads. :/

Imo the amount of research fits nicely. Ofc more allways help

Tbh i think the research vary greatly. If you are very active in combat you burn alot of ships = less money for research. But if you turtle or its peacefull in your part of the galaxy then yes, you can go through the research rather quick. Also your amount of resources set in the options have something to say.

As the captial ships rise in level they can get more fighters. I think the carrier goes from 2 to 6 squads while a normal ship goes from 1-3. But i agree. Imo let the carrier start with 6 squads and keep it at that and then remove the squads from the other ships.

I start with low resources ever time, I usually end having so much money i just buy the levels for the ship. Hehe. Once you have a trade port for every planet, and has all trade ship upgrades, the money just rolls in. I agree with you on the squads issue.

I would just like add my support for a bigger tech tree, the one in the beta is far too small for a wannabe 4X.In epic games you will finish all the research early in the game. Not good.

It`s good to see i am not the only one how thinks the tech three is too small.
Hopefully the the developers will make a larger tech tree.
Time will tell.

yeah, for me the general rule is;
bigger tech tree = more fun.

A game where you can conquer the galaxy NEEDS a large tech tree.
You plow through the tech tree like nothing.

I agree with most of the above posters. The tech tree could use an expansion

I also agree! I've been able to complete both tech tree's maxed out in about 2 hours...

And that should not be the case in an epic game.
If it`s epic then it should a lot longer to complete the tech tree.
At the very least double it. Add some tech that takes very long time to get.

Also, if we expand the tech tree, perhaps make more than just 2 menus of tech. perhaps a chassis, weapons, empire/trading, and artifacts tree?

In another point, perhaps add another tier to the research tree, the 'epic' techs that have a redonculous limit to them that add a small % upgrade to all things.

And for last, i seem to think the Kol, for a battleship, does not do enough damage with its beam attack, 8 i think is what the build tip reads it at. could there be a tech that would up the damage?

P.S. can we get some information as to what damage is most effective vs shields, hull, and the like?

The TEC were traders not warriors. So it makes sense that they would accumulate credits faster then the other races. And as it says in the Beta not everything for the TEC is in. And it is a Beta, however I do agree that the research tree should be a bit bigger. Possible adding the capital ships to the tech tree.

i completely disagree, if you have enough money to burn through the tech tree early, you had more than enough money to have won the game before then.

in the longest game i have played the entire galaxy ran out of extractor resources and i didnt even reach tier 7 on either tree.

granted i was underusing trade ports because i scuttled them if i saw the instant trade bug going.

In fact I think the biggest problem of the AI is that it puts too much resources into infrastructure and research and not enough into ships.

I disagree with this, however, this is somthing that should have a slider to determine the speed at which research is conducted.

People who want multiplayer games to last less than 2 hours should have the ability to get through tech tree more quickly and players that want the long drawn out epic feel can slide it up so that research takes forever. Don't forget also that there is a whole other tech tree coming and more additions to the current one including more artifacts.

If you were playing against a human opponent who was focusing on ship construction, you would most likely be destroyed if you were focusing on initial research. I just focus on a couple population improvements to help my income and then get to cap ships, but war and colonization are primary. 700 credits for a new research station is two and 1/3 scout frigates.

My guess is that the tech tree has been cut back (as have other things) for beta 1, and it will be significantly longer in the final game.
