I think game speed is just about right, as your territory grows, the game pace picks up quite a bit I feel.

Yeah, I find the speed balance pretty good as well. I've been playing without pausing to see if I ever feel overwhelmed. So far so good. I am satisfied that this speed setting can be kept for the retail version.

But I am not saying that an option to set game speed for single player or for multi player wouldn't be a good thing.

While the pace is nice, to have an option to vary game speed would be fantastic. There are some moments I feel I'm speed clicking, I don't want that!

Even Supreme Commander offers this.

I think the game is way to fast paced. It feels like a classic RTS game, just in a different setting. Stuff is happening way to fast for it to feel like it's going on in space, and I've never liked all those "classical" RTS games (like C&C, Starcraft, Warcraft etc.). I want building a battleship to be a big deal (something you can barely begin thinking about when you only control a couple of planets), I want everything to cost more, I want phase-space travel to take minutes, not seconds like now etc. So yeah, I would definitely welcome some pretty broad pacing/game speed settings

if the game is to slow, multiplayer could en up not being fun, since you couldnt play a big map. A big map with say 3 galaxyes and some 8 players?
Maybe if they add so that you can save and load a multiplayer game?

I agree with ya DRavisher, but i dont feel the largets ship in sins should be the largest, instead I think 1 or maybe 2 larger classes would be awesome, and even more costly

Europa Universalis seems to do very well in multiplayer.

That also has variable game speeds though to help everyone, and an option to save/load multiplayer games.

Since Sins is trying to have 4X in it's RTS shindig, it should also provide this.

Isn't EU a RT4X anyway? Sins can't claim to be first!
