QUICK! Got a Q for you about walls...

Which is better?

Uploading some walls. There are 4 wall sizes in each zip. 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024, 1600x1200.

Should I go with JPEGS or BMPs?

Bitmaps show up nicer on most desktops but Jpegs have a smaller file size. I can't decide.

ETA: Also, are there any other really popular sizes I should include?

jpegs seem to be the go size wise.....

would be interesting to get some ideas as to desired sizes.....I just look around at recently submitted ones and do a smattering, but a more accurate idea of the main sizes people are after would be good to know.....

Jpg in a zip. Bitmaps are far to big for people to want to download. If you have Photoshop, save them at a decent quality...300kb to 600kb or so is pretty good, and the quality difference isn't very noticeable.

800x600 isn't really necessary....it's the same aspect ratio as 1024x768 and will work fine.

Other than that...widescreen if you can. 1680x1050 and 1280x800 would be good.

Thanks for the tips. I’ll go with JPEGS. I’ll exclude the 800 and put in the 1650 because I got a request for that size from someone else, too.

How popular are the 1280 x 768 and 1280 x 960 sizes?
