Hypocrisy

If I had a dollar for every time I heard a Republican complain about INCREASED Federal Spending I would be a multi-millionaire. I looked at the changes in the federal budget over the past 6 years. Guess what? Interest on the debt is the biggest increase in federal spending followed by the Iraq War. The increased federal Spending on interest is about $150 Billion per year since 2000 and the increase in spending on the Iraq war is about $125 Billion per year.

Every time a Republican complains about increased federal spending they need to look in the mirror and say I am the cause of the increased spending over the past 6 years. What is worse is that the increase in the interest will continue and will not end until we repay the debt. That can not even begin because Bush will hand the next president a federal budget that is hundreds of Billions out of balance. Unlike the BALANCED budget GWB got when he took office. GOOD WORK all you Republicans that supported Bush and the GOP members of Congress!!!!!!!

Foreign terror groups would not be attacking us in Iraq if we had not invaded Iraq. We are the reason that foreign terrorists are operating in Iraq. We are the reason there is a Civil war in Iraq just as Gen. Powell said this week. All of the problems in Iraq were predicted by baker, Armitage and Powell BEFORE Bush invaded Iraq. Bush simply ignored their warnings which have all come true! The result is that Bush is the cause of 3,200 dead Americans, 25,000 injured Americans and spending what will be about a Trillion Tax dollars that we could have used to help Americans not to help generate millions of angry Moslems that would be happy to attack us again!

THE WEEKLY STANDARD

everyone's favorite neocon rag. cmon...if you are gonna poo poo everyone left of fox news, ya can't expect anyone to take bill kristol's neocon rag at all seriously.

They publicly stated that agents from the nation Iraq was trying to buy the yellow cake from them as it is their chief export item. They were turned down out of fear of getting on the wrong side of the UN and the USA. This makes it hard to say the information was manipulated or leaked from the current administration since it was a news release from another nation not the US. Just because it got a paragraph buried somewhere in the NYT story and other news agencies does not mean it was not out there for people to see if they looked. I think AP ran a paragraph as well.

are you kidding me? at least show us the "paragraph."

You don't like the Weekly Standard? Then try these:

We interrupt this scandal to ask a question that, due to it's 'explosive' nature was never asked when the story broke almost exactly a year ago...

What were 500 tons of yellow cake uranium still doing at the nuclear research center of Al—Tuwaitha in Iraq when American tanks rolled into Bagdhad?

The fact that the material was under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for more than a decade opens an entirely different line of questioning: Is the entire group of United Nations bureaucrats running the IAEA legally

Or this from wikipedia:

Mr. Wilson had claimed that he found no evidence of Saddam Hussein ever attempting or buying yellowcake uranium from Niger on his trip to Niger.[citation needed]

The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence suggested that the evidence Mr. Wilson found could be interpreted differently:

[ Wilson's] intelligence report indicated that former Nigerien Prime Minister Ibrahim Mayaki was unaware of any contracts that had been signed between Niger and any rogue states for the sale of yellowcake while he was Prime Minister (1997-1999) or Foreign Minister (1996-1997). Mayaki said that if there had been any such contract during his tenure, he would have been aware of it. Mayaki said, however, that in June 1999,(REDACTED) businessman, approached him and insisted that Mayaki meet with an Iraqi delegation to discuss "expanding commercial relations" between Niger and Iraq. The intelligence report said that Mayaki interpreted "expanding commercial relations" to mean that the delegation wanted to discuss uranium yellowcake sales. The intelligence report also said that "although the meeting took place, Mayaki let the matter drop due to the UN sanctions on Iraq."[6]
This report has led to much criticism.[citation needed] Wilson has responded to this criticism, observing that uranium was not actually discussed at the 1999 meeting. On Meet the Press, Wilson stated:

At that meeting, uranium was not discussed. It would be a tragedy to think that we went to war over a conversation in which uranium was not discussed because the Niger official was sufficiently sophisticated to think that perhaps he might have wanted to discuss uranium at some later date.[7]

The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence

i.e. the rubber stamp intelligence committee. it was a republican majority committee led by bush lacky kit bond.

as far as your other quote, guess you missed this...What about that 500 tons of yellow cake under seal at Al—Tuwaitha? As long as the sanctions were in place, the inspectors would be able to confirm, albeit with great difficulty, that Saddam would not be able to use the material for his bomb building program.

because we already knew that was there sparky.and i talked about this a long time ago on here....the wild speculation that neocon rick moran goes thru is only that,,,wild speculation based on his own paranoia. he insists that because this existed, it was proof that he was building a bomb, even tho it was monitored and couldn't be used for bomb building. his "albeit with great difficulty" is merely his editorializing, which is backed up by nothing but his own preconceived notions. he doesn't even take into consideration the time and sheer resources it takes to build one bomb. even if saddam did have plans, he was still at least 10 years out. there was no immediate threat. iran, who is WAY farther along in their programs, is still years away from anything tangible on the bomb front.

but in the end, none of that matters. joe wilson's findings don't even matter. the fact of the matter is that our government purposefully destroyed one of their own. valarie plame was the cia agent in charge of counter proliferation. she was in charge of tracking loose nukes and rogue nations looking for nuclear bombs. our governemt willingly and recklessly destroyed the lives of an entire network of spies...did i mention they were OUR SPIES? that is not patriotic or anything noble. it is treasonous and you defend it in the name of power and politics.

nitpicking the col and trying to rehash 1 mere technicality does nothing to diminish the real issues. and besides, ya'll claimed to have "disproven" all of his points, when he has made hundreds, at least. ya'll made a beef of a mere 3 points, and are now down to 1,and it is entirely irrelevant and speculative. ,,,big freakin whoop.

it's about time for you to put aside the rhetoric and politics and realize that these boobs in the white house are wolves in sheep's clothing. i'm not tellin ya to change your political philosophies at all, and ya don't seem to get that. put the law before the men instead of the men before the law. stop with the "lectures, legalisms and carefully worded denials" and wake up tho the stiff dose of truth that is this administration's reckless and unethical behavior.
