As I wrote on another site I frequent:
On the plus side: Heroes is on the big break so watching 24 will be easier.
On the down side: Heroes is on the big break so watching 24 will be easier.
Damned if I do, damned if I don't.
Some seasons of 24 have been pretty good. I guess having those previous standards to match is a bit too much for the writers this season. Stealing from themselves and their predecessors, regurgitating the same schemes and ideas, and always having moles in the right places, hard perimeters that are softer than mashed potatoes, and other problems. What a mess.
I'm watching it, but I'm just not as excited over the show as I have been in the past. It used to feel like must-see TV to me, now it feels like the show is on the decline because of these little things. Perhaps it's time to blow it all up and start with a new crew next season. Let Kiefer and company go out in a blaze of glory, and let him continue the executive producer role, but bring in someone new. Short of that happening, I'm just not sure I'd really bother even starting to watch another season.
