Logon Studio Problem! Please Help!

Hey, I just recently downloaded LogonStudio. When I go to download a custom logon from the WinCustomize website, it downloads but then does not show up in LogonStudio. I just need to know how to apply the custom logon.

Thank You!!

You should just be able to doubleclick on the .logonxp file and it should load up in LogonStudio, then click the Apply button and it will take you to the logon screen.

If you want to randomize the logons, click on options [ on the left ] and move the logons from the available list to the random list.

That's how it should work, but when I was having trouble with the same problem, Boss0190 - the king of all things Logon - had me re-install Logonstudio and that fixed the problem. Also, you could check out this former forum post.

I have a similar problem when I load a .logonxp file into logon studio but it does nto show up in the list. Ive downloaded about 20 from wincustomize.org and none of them will show up no matter how I try. I tried double clicking and I tried the load button in the application it's self.

When all else fails, rename the .logonxp file to .zip, unzip it, and put the logon folder (the one with .bmps, a uifile and theme.ini in it) in C:\Program Files\Wincustomize\Logon Studio.

Then open Logon Studio and it will be in the list of available logons. If it isn't, there either was another folder inside the one you put in the LS folder, or there's something wrong with the Logon itself.

Edit: Or..you need to reinstall LS, you aren't using XP....you're on a domain..you have a Linksys wireless adapter installed......

Thanks, the zip method worked.

Incidentally, I'm running XPmce, no domain, and the wireless is a intel 3945. It happens to be an Asus G1 laptop.

Mr.Bossman, you have made my day!!

The hours, countless redownloads, reinstalls, reboots, toggling the welcome screen back and forth... I've been battling with this for months... The misery!!! A simple file extension change?

Finally! The battle is over!!!! Obviously it's not the files themselves but the decompression method itself!!

Why use the proprietary file ext at all, right? I'm going to permanently add the logonxp filetype to WinZip WRAR, etc.

Many many thanks!

That's great Jonhisattva! Glad it worked for you.

Logon Studio does weird things sometimes and you have to resort to brute force to make the logons work.
