Do I really need to say it here?

Maryland sweeps Duke in the regular season.  Oh what a nice ring that has.

Perhaps now the pollsters -- especially the lame coaches -- will show some love and respect to the Terps.

Duke at 14 going into the game?  heh.   Maryland at 24 in one poll, unranked in the coaches poll? B.S.

R E S P E C T.  That is what Garyland has earned.  Back in the NCAAs where they belong.  Oh how sweet it is.

Here's hoping that the selection commitee shows some respect and gives Maryland a fair seed when they put 'em in.  Here's also hopin' that they don't get sent packin' out to the deep west where their game won't be on the tube until the dead of night in the East coast time zone.

Maryland sweeps Duke in the regular season. Oh what a nice ring that has.

Maryland has long held a special place in teams I root for, and them sweeping Duke is a big part of that reason.


Maryland at 24 in one poll, unranked in the coaches poll? B.S.

Who cares where you end up in the polls? At least college basketball has a playoff. Maryland had a tough schedule, they have a good record and they are in the top 15 in most computer polls so I see them getting a fairly high seed. The West bracket won't be too bad if UNC or Florida aren't out there, too.

Normally I don't care too much what the rank in the poll is -- unless they stand a chance at hitting #1 during one of weeks in the regular season -- but that is mostly because they normally are sitting somewhere in the top 20, or at the worst in the top 25.

The last few seasons haven't been that good at Maryland though, and they really stunk the joint up in the Not Invited Tourney too, so perhaps it is right that they have to earn some respect this season.  With that said though they've more than earned respect with their play against Carolina and Duke and the other teams of late.  The win against Carolina last week should have had them in top 20, especially considering that Carolina was rumored to be headed for #2 if they had beaten Maryland.  They were already #5 at the time.

I know that some of the early wins that Maryland has might be soft wins or from teams that wouldn't get that much notice, but the pollsters kept showing respect to Duke, Carolina and other teams.  Maryland deserves the same.
