Mr. hypocrite: Al, Green as I say not as I do, Gore

Gore’s home energy uses more than 20 times the national average

Fans of Al Gore, the whole "Green" Academy Awards of last evening (2-25-2007) and conservation of energy and natural resources in general should love this:

Al Gore’s Personal Energy Use Is His Own “Inconvenient Truth”

Gore’s home uses more than 20 times the national average

I'm gonna snip a few choice pieces of that article (headline is linked) in the comments area below, but suffice it to say that Mr. Gore is quite the energy usage hypocrite. Have to love to see this stuff from the Hollywood crowds and their personal hero. Tell the world that you're trying to save us all and that we have to sacrifice and do better but then go on your own merry way burning energy like there's no tomorrow. I guess it's because they're all sure that an asteroid is coming for us all in the next 20 years (give or take).

Hypocrite bastages.

A few choice quotes from the linked article:

Gore’s mansion, located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).

and this:

In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.

The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh—more than 20 times the national average.

Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh—guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore’s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.

Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore’s energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.

and more still:
Gore’s extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore’s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.

Gotta love the hypocrite liberals that tell us all what *WE* have to do while wasting far more resources every single minute of their daily lives than most of us waste in a year.   Pigs.

Holy cow. 22k kWh? That's insane.  My 6,000 square foot house only uses around 1 kwh per month.  What's he doing? air conditioning the local environment?

Uh, yeah, he's trying to reverse global warming the hard way

Come on, Terp.

The elites are "entitled" to pay for their profligate ways, as long as they share their wisdom with the rest of us. How can they share that wisdom in LA in the morning & New York in the afternoon without that private jet? And don't you think they deserve a warm house to come home to after doing so much to benefit mankind?

That is pretty good!  We average about 1k kwh a month too, but a lot more in winter!

I had almost forgotten the real reason he's been using up all that 'lectricity -- it's because he invented the internet and has to keep it going with the big super computer in his basement.
