I experienced the same problem after installing IE7. It seem anything that uses IE to render html, including instant messengers, etc, all have the missing cursor problem where it disappears entirely while floating over that window. In the meantime I've been using the CTRL-SHIFT-C default hotkey to disable CursorXP when I need to manipulate something in those windows. It's definitely a change in IE7 which has caused the problem.

1st of all it has nothing to do with the IE7 I'm sure about that because I had IE6 and it didn't work either (as I said).
and 2nd, This problem came up after a format I was forced to do, before that everything worked! so I guess it has nothing to do with the graphic card either.

AND 3---I've found a way to semi-fix it/ it's not that big problem anymore.
I didn't do much:
all u have to do is to go into the mouse properties and change the "appearence of the pointer trace" ON and for best put it MAX.
Note : This doesn't affect the 'trace' of the pointer when u r using the cursor XP, and u could say that the pointer now is visual on the web pages.

I hope this will help others to!

thx for your replies.

this happened to me too after i updated my Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator Driver to build 4764 (driver version 6.14.10.4764). i dont think its ie7 cuz i had the most up to date ie7 b4 i updated the graphics driver and it had no problems. is there any other way to do this cuz when ever i open microsoft word, sometimes, the cursor xp text cursor reverts back to the windows one, and if i put pointer trace to max, it gets very annoying. can i choose the problematic windows cursor and replace it with something else? (i use the dasblack cursor that comes with cursor xp plus)
