1. To begin, might I add that while liberals did cut from military spending at least we did not take money from education and put it into military efforts (Reagan).
If I recall correctly it was a Democratically controlled Congress that approved his budgets because the majority of Americans demanded they do it.
2. Europe is far more racist than America, no doubt. But America cannot be left without blame either. Don't forget that more than 30% of Americans believe that American Muslims should be forced into having identification cards.
I have not seen this poll, and it seems ok to me that only three in ten people are panicked enough to want people perceived as a threat to carry ID cards. I am not advocating all Muslims carry ID cards because my sister and brother-in-law were Muslim so I never saw the religion as a threat. Sure my sister disagreed with me choosing to convert to Judaism while she had converted to Islam. My father was Roman Catholic and my mother was Baptist and later converted to Krishna. Fear of religion is the sign of an uneducated mind. By your figures less than a third of the nation is uneducated when it comes to religion. Not bad for a secular nation. Take France for an example where as a secular nation they have little understanding of their own religion and are trying to wipe out any and all religious activity. Look at how well they handled the Muslims. Riots and street violence that is shocking to us in America.
3. Since when is attacking American politics a bad thing.
It must be understood that getting into political arguments is fine for the most part. Getting into political arguments where non Americans can use it for war propaganda against us is not wise. Even when conservative hatred of Mr. Clinton was at its peek elected officials never attacked the President for his foreign policy. Sure some political hack did the attacks but not the elected officials as a group. With Mr. Bush he is being openly attacked by elected officials not just within our borders but outside our borders breaking the long held policy of politics stops at the waters edge. The only other time this happened was against President Nixon during the Vietnam conflict. The problem as I see it is that liberals are only concerned with the acquisition of power and if that means we lose a war, or damage international relations it is fine with them. To me this means that our national safety is not as important as liberals being in power. Liberals seem to believe that once they are in power they can fix the damage they caused to gain power. Again I don’t mean to paint all liberals with a broad brush I am talking about the liberal politicians.
In fact, when there is another liberal president you will be attacking them.
I disagree with you on this point. I have only had a problem with one liberal President and that was James Earl Carter Jr. in my mind the worse president in the history of our nation. I did have a problem with Mr. Clinton because he lied under oath and should have been impeached for that alone. Just for the record Mr. Carter was the reason I left he Democratic party and am ashamed to say I voted for him once.
You say "Liberals hate America". If my understanding is correct, it is because they do not agree with you.
Your understanding is incorrect. I don’t care what lame brained ideas they have or if they disagree with me or not. What I see are the liberal politicians more interested in winning election than winning the war on terror.
Maybe you should check your own party. I admit, liberal politicians have made mistake but never tell me that conservatives are these great and wonderful people. Remember McCarthyism? Iran-Contra? Tom Delay? Jack Abramoff?
Robert and John Kennedy worked with McCarthy and got a lot of political hay from it and as soon as it started to come apart they ran for cover.
Iran-Contra was a great move on our part. We sold non-working weapons to Iran to punish them for the hostage situation a few years earlier. So the Iranians funded our Contra operation within the laws Congress made. They cut off funding to the operation like they cut off funding to Vietnam and they want to cut off funding of the operations in Iraq. I see a trend here. Any time we have a chance to win the liberals in congress want to cut off the money so we can fail. They did not want to cut off funding when Mr. Johnson got them into Vietnam but they did it when Mr. Nixon was showing signs of winning.
Tom Delay has not been convicted of anything. If I recall he was indicted for a crime that was not a crime until a year after he did what he did. That is like being arrested for smoking in a non smoking building because you smoked when it was legal but they passed a law against smoking in the building a year after you stopped working in that building. Shady or not it was not illegal when he did what he did. He did live up to the rules of the Republicans which means when he was charged with a crime he resigned his position of leadership. The Democrats don’t have such a rule when charged with a crime. As I remember several Democratic congressman did not give up their seats until they were already convicted and one did not give up his seat until he was already in jail. Please don’t get me wrong I don’t think that all liberals are crooks, I don’t believe that most politicians crooks. I just don’t want to equate a political witch hunt with actual criminals. Jack Abramoff if I recall was a lobbyist who gave money to both sides of the isle.
And in response to Frogboy, I remember that the Great Depression was a complex issue. Was it not liberal FDR who took the U.S. out of the weak economic period?
If I remember history correctly what got us out of the depression was WWII. My father was in the WPA and then joined the Marines when the war started. Not an easy thing for a negro at the time. The war put us to work and those war contracts got America out of the depression.
Don't criticize without thinking through. Yeah, those liberals coming up with policies and plans that don't work (Paladin77)! We should have just listened to Hoover. And we should not now help reduce costs of college education.
Hoover got the blame for the depression but it was people who speculated with money they did not have loaned by banks that did not have the money to back up the loans once the people lost confidence in the banks that caused the depression. Congress enacted laws to prevent it from happening again at least with the stock market until the 1980s when loopholes were found, instead of margins it was called leveraging. Anyway once the money supply of the nation was wiped out every thing went bad. Don’t think you can honestly blame that on Mr. Hoover other than he was President at the time it happened.
Anyways, just a response from another dirty liberal.
I do wish to thank you for your response. Unlike most liberals you said your say without getting personal or mean. You laid our your arguments in a clear logical manner and you were not rude. Thank you, you are most welcome here anytime.
