Nice

what i relly like about what was said is:
Enemy extermination is often the only means to victory in an RTS, but Sins offers alternatives: "The research trees are much larger than those of most RTS games; we've included numerous levels of diplomatic relations between empires, and players have a number of alternatives to develop their economy and acquire resources."

interesting, the planet's are indicated with a related image, you can obviously see the volcanic and lush planets, the broken things are either asteroids or ice planets, theres the light blue ones which I think are the only two ice planets, the orange ones which appear to be desert and then the orange triangle thingies...

exactly what are the orange triangles? and how big of a game is this (big, medium, small)

this would also be great for my monopolizing strategy, sweet... (if it so exists)

and this deserves its own box

yes! Democracy lives!
and the distance between two solar systems is on the order of 250,000,000 meters

just in case you wanted to walk there...

Interesting. I would have thought they'd post the actual screenshots we sent them on 1up.com and not just scans from the print magazine.

I was guessing fleets in space and or around planets...

but why do they look like orange triangles...

additionally what are the green crowns?
good question about the indicators, why not simply 2d?
because its part of the actual area, its not just a map.
this should merely be a picture of a solar system/galaxy close in, not the whole place. (which should have galaxies at odd angles)

Probably the control (racial) indicators. LOVE the chaotic pic.

I'm guessing at what you're referring to here...

The orange triangles are artifacts (placeholder art). The crowns are that player's symbol which indicate which worlds/fleets they own.

Anyone else think the asteroid icons are a bit wierd?
it probly won't matter when i'm zoomed in
Reply #17 Top
neh, i don't really think they're to wierd. still, the system is far to full for my taste. Fewer planets would make things more realistic as well as strategically more important. If you have to many planets you are tempted go "Oh well, to bad about that one, good thing I have 12 more in the system.

1 planet in a system with 13 total is called a foothold

But I agree, I'd rather have more systems with less planets, maybe 6-7 planets per system?

If posible, plz ask(when adressing a screenshot of a gameplay element) if the elements in the shot are completed, place holders, or a work in progress; before you start ripping on something based on what it looks like. This is still before the beta has come up.

I would like to ask if that is an typical planetary system( in terms of planet number & type, asteroid belts, etc.) or are most systems bigger/smaller or something like that?

I wonder how many solar system is there in a galaxy (in the game) and how many galaxy is there in the universe of the game?
Players set how many solar systems, planets, etc. there are in the system, or you can go with pre-set defaults.

where was my support for "choose planets/system" when needed it?
your fault.

thank god my infinite wisdom has been heard.
Really cool to be able to customize all that
